Unless House calls something different on third downs, No. his schemes suck

I am still having an issue with our DE's crashing inside and not maintaining outside containment. It led to a number of big plays by KJ. That can be fixed but needs to be fixed quickly.

think the zone scheme is too complex for our DBs

As a former young db i hated zone. I hated it in basketball too. I’d rather just d someone up then cover space. If they beat me they beat me. Rather that than feeling like i need eyes on the side and back of my head. Also having to hope the other guys are on the same page. In certain areas of the field it’s a good scheme.

We are getting pressure, it's just not a contained rush. JJ needs to get more snaps

LBs are playing better, Harris seems to be getting better.

What worries me the most is lack of assignment on some plays. How the heck was that freshman TE so open on a few plays and we get confused on coverage

Bench Ovie for Womack/Swinson. Ovie is totally invisible out there, we'd be better off with Trindon Holiday playing his spot. Bench Smith for Jefferson. Jefferson paired with Wingo should be able to affect the pocket more often than not. Send a 5 man rush more often. Play less zone. Rotate DBs more. Welch, Stamps, Toviano, and Yates cannot be much worse. Hell I'd throw Kylin Jackson out there too t this point. Having Burns on the field is a liability. He's always in on big plays being given up and honestly in his time here I can't remember a good play he has made.

This defense is not going to be be a top unit and they will give up plays. They at least need to attack more to create more negative plays and turnover opportunities. This soft zone ain't it.

Yes. I think it is a scheme issue and House has to adapt to the talent on the field.

3/4 starting in our secondary were not good enough to get an LSU offer out of High School! That tells me all that I need to know.

Smith playing to his capability would help too.
