And why do I get the feeling that the US taxpayers will pay for it, regardless of who wins the war?

It will be tremendous. It would have been a better investment to buy Ukraine than support this war.

For a piece of shite little strip of land, occupied by a bunch of poor people, the entire war could have been averted. Ukraine could have negotiated with Russia "for $150 billion, it's yours", and then gone about their business.

It’ll make the 113 billion we’ve already sent seem like childs play.

Any money spent in Ukraine while our southern border is flooded with illegal aliens and our cities & people suffer is morally bankrupt. Illegally ignoring and possibly helping the invasion of our country is criminal and treasonous outright. This administration shouldn’t just be run out of office but escorted to the gallows in chains.

The United States of America allowed this war to continue because it provided limitless military assistance to Ukraine, thus becoming a de facto combatant in this war, even if only by proxy.

The moral obligation for the USA to fund the re-building of Ukraine, whether or not it will belong to Russia, arguably exists. There will be many who will insist that the USA has this obligation.

The United Nations did not involve itself in this war - the USA did so. As such, the USA is on the hook.

If you break it -- you OWN it, USA.

As the band Boston sang...it's more than a feeling. The well connected companies, like Black Rock, are already over there - laying the groundwork, starting the JVs, drawing up plans - to dominate the US/EU financed rebuild.

Or Russia could have decided that invading a sovereign nation to steal their territory was not acceptable in this day and age. Instead, they invaded. We should crush them until they quit.

Even if it costs a trillion dollars, it's well worth it because we are buying far more than victory in this one war. We are establishing a deterrence as all other would-be conquerors heed the lesson.

we will pay for it.

moreover, we will pay 10X what it actually costs because organizations like the Clinton Foundation will be involved.

Isn't it wonderful that humanitarians like Bill and Hillary Clinton donate so much time and resources for the betterment of our world without any expectation of anything in return?

I crack me up, sometimes...

United States of America - World Police Force.

It won't work, friend. All that will be accomplished is the destruction of the USA.
