What does the Poli Board think of the Treasurer race in Louisiana?
Scott McKnight has my support.
He is young (42 years old) and not from North LA like John Fleming. Also, I think John Fleming is positioning himself to run against Bill Cassidy.
John Fleming-Republican
Dustin Granger-Democrat

I think it is a meaningless position that does nothing more than serve as a launchpad for career politicians seeking higher office. The holder has to be able to write their name. Schroder probably needs help with that.
It should be abolished. The duties should be handled by professional staff.

If this (McKnight) is who I think this is, I know him from HS. He’s an a-hole.
Doesn’t mean he isn’t a quality candidate but he rubbed me the wrong way personally.

I imagine the Louisiana Treasurer office is second in corruption, trailing only the legendary Louisiana Insurance Commissioner office.

If so, Treasurer is a lot better at getting graft than Insurance is.
Insurance had Sherman Bernard, Doug Green, and Jim Brown all go to jail, which is about 50% of the people who have ever held the job.

Staff serving under the governor? No, thank you. It's a basic separation of duties issue.

McKnight is solid. And qualified.
