House is one of 15 candidates listed by Feldman in that article. He isn't in the top 10 most qualified from the list. OP left out some context for the clicks.

Feldman: MSU Candidates

After using some BS to get out of their coach's contract, MSU is probably going to strike out on their top candidates.

BS? Moral turpitude is not BS. And what Mel is accused of is definitely Moral Turpitude.

If House leaves I honestly think we go after Tommy Rees.

Kelly is already familiar with him and that guy really knows how to shutdown an offense.

Firing a black man for cause and replacing him with a white man with no HC experience… That will go over like a lead balloon.

This he said she said issue would've been under the rug if he had gone 10-2 last year, looked like he had another 10 win team on his hands, and made 4 mil a year instead of 9.5.

House is a good coach, but that seems like a big jump...

Maybe. But I’m not sure how desirable that gig is these days. Although I don’t think House has the personality to navigate the politics that are sure to come in light of this Tucker fiasco. He lacks charisma. And their next HC is gonna need it in spades to try to sell that shite-show of a program.

Although, I mentioned this back when people wanted us to try to fire Orgeron for cause. Or not give him a raise and extension after the NC. That’s not a great way to attract future candidates that have options. Them trying not to pay him is gonna keep away anybody they’d actually want to take the job. I don’t think I’d want to hire anyone that would. The whole “I wouldn’t join any club that would have me as a member” thing.

You're right, we could still have 3rd and Chavis or the make believe defense we had in 2020 and first half of 2021 thanks to O.

He's basically last on that list.

I think both coordinators are solid without either being irreplaceable.

I probably prefer House to Denbrock.

That being said, Daronte Jones did a good job in 2021 so maybe we could have him as a last resort if House leaves and can't get any big names.

This is a good point. If I were an in-demand coach I would look elsewhere. With virtually everyone offering premium contracts MI ST isn't landing a splash hire.

I personally don’t want him to leave, on the other hand if he does that means CBK is making good hires. House needs another year or 2 imo, cause once he makes the move it could be his last shot as a HC if things go south. Also if he doesn’t like to recruiting, Day, Freeman, Fickel, and Harbaugh will make it tough on a New face up there.
