Did they ever say what the penalty was on the sack/fumble?

I was listening to the radio with the ESPN idiots muted. However I was on the phone for about two minutes, right when that
play happened. I’m assuming it was defensive holding, automatic 1st down, but did they ever discuss the details, or show the replay?

Adebo was holding the WR.

Marginal holding on Adebo that was let go the entire game other than that play. Typical Saints fashion to take back a momentum shifting play.

The Official is supposed to announce what the penalty is & how many yards the penalty is for to the crowd. They never showed the Official do that on TV. They just ran the next play for Carolina. I guess against the Saints that is optional.

He got another ticy-tack one again. It’s really insulting our fandom when we know it’s total bullshite. The catch Chris made was interference and if he didn’t come down with that catch they were not calling it. Jackson was mugging our receivers and never got called.

They replayed it and it was just handfughtibg between the receiver and Adebo(I think). Very weak call.

It was a pretty clear hold at the top of the route. Idk what replay you watched.

Honestly there was a lot of hand fighting by the WR as well. When its both going like that usually refs dont throw the flag on the defender.

It was definitely a hold by the letter of the law, but that same play was also not called 5-6 other times. In particular the Olave catch which was blatant interference.

Would love to see a replay showing when the hold occurred and when the flag was thrown. Would be pretty interesting if it the hold happened after young tucked the ball and/or if the flag was thrown after the strip sack. Sure seemed like it was called late.

Announcers were mid-replay and said "and now we have a very late flag"

Possible their attention was on the turnover though
