He used to have a secret poker game in my old office. There was a staircase in the ceiling that would come down it looked like an attic entrance from the outside. This was not his place but a friends.
Upstairs there was a small hidden apartment. We stored boxes up there when I was there.
They had a poker game that was played up there. Many officials and judges took part.

Watched his grandson get choked out at North Gate Tavern for acting like a little bitch. That was fun.

Knew that little dipshit in college. Would pay money to see that.

Was bartending a book signing event for one of his books. I was setting up the bar in the reception area before the crowd moved from the auditorium into the reception area. In walks Edwin Edwards and his wife, Trina, and she was chewing his arse. Kept setting everything up while eavesdropping on their conversation. Trina said, "I can't believe you called me Candace!"

Hopped on the Google. Candace was his second wife. Trina, his third, was pissed. He just sat there and took the arse chewing without saying a word.

Back in the 80s I helped a buddy install one of those big satellite dishes at his house off Highland road. Nice house. Had a stuffed bear - not a toy, a real taxidermy stuffed bear. He wasn’t home at the time. His first wife seemed nice though.

Must have been a bit of a cheapskate cause we were not professional installers - just a couple of college kids.

This is from way back in the 70's, but I heard that the way to get someone out of Angola was to make sure the guv got $10,000 in nonconsecutive 20 dollar bills.

Yea, I wonder how many followers the man would have on his social media accounts in modern times.

I do…. My dad was an undercover narcotics detective for the Louisiana State Police in the 70s and 80s. One night he got a call from someone in a higher-up position and all that was said was go to some hotel in Monroe, we are going to have a high value person there in an hour.

So dad gets up and goes to Monroe. He goes to the hotel he was told to go to and just waits. Shortly after a limousine pulls up. Edwin Edwards gets out with some broad. They go in and frick for a little while. Then Edwards gets in the limo and leaves.

Dad went back home and went to bed. The end.

How true do you think the rumors about Candy and Nick were?

Look at another person talking shite like they know something. Candy is far from crazy
I said kind of crazy - not talking shite
If you’ve ever had to sell her an item she has to make a decision on - it’s a little crazy

He and dad had a lot of meetings.

For some reason, I would be brought along to the Governor’s Mansion but not in the meetings.

He would make sure the crew at the mansion would get me ice cream and show me the display of rocks from the moon. They had cameras in fake birds nests in the corners of the front porch.

All I got. Pretty much.

I don't remember where he said. But I remember during an interview he made a comment about how "there is no better feeling than the thrust of a woman." Everyone busted out laughing. Everytime I hear of Edwins name I think of that comment and give out a nod.

Was at an LSU basketball game in the early/mid 80's. Halftime, Edwards walks into the student section and hams it up for the crowd. He gets booed pretty hard. Some students started waving dollar bills in the air. Edwards went up to them with his hand out.

From a lot of sources, he typically liked to basically have a romance with a chick for a matter of weeks and then move on. And did so. Nothing bad or crazy, just a guy doing his thing.

EWE shows up at the lobby of the law firm where I later worked. This is between his stints as Governor and he's there for a deposition and he chats up the very pretty, very sweet and very young receptionist. He goes to the conference room and an hour later a dozen expensive long-stemmed roses arrive for the receptionist. After the deposition he chatted her up some more. He didn't get lucky that time but it wasn't for lack of trying.

Went to a signing when EWE was on his book tour. The guy ahead of me told him "I met you in 1984 at such and such event,". Edwards remembered him, remembered the event, and mentioned several of the guy's family members by name.
