Thank all of you for your prayers! You have no idea how much that means to us. The scans came back with nothing broken or compressed. That was a miracle.

We are at almost 72 hours since the hit but the memory has not come back. Still unable to answer very basic baseline questions like the date of his birthday. Memories of the 7 days leading up to the hit are gone. He went for breakfast on Sunday, got the buffet, and when he got back to the table couldn't remember that he got a bowl of gravy for his biscuits. He also couldn't remember what he ordered to drink (and then took home).

It was homecoming so we went to do pictures with his gf and then they had their own private homecoming dance (just like the one at end of Contagion) here at home. His only memories seem to be those involving her. After giving her birth month all weekend he finally remembered that was wrong tonight and guessing January instead (it's in February).

I'll update this just one more time after the doctor does the in depth evaluation. My wife and I are still finding out about things we didn't even realize until we heard about them. Just this morning I learned that instead of their normal postgame talk they were all holding arms and praying. After my original post, things got worse but he got through it with his alertness and personality starting to come back 4 hours after the hit. Again, THANK YOU for all of your prayers.

Great to hear there is no spinal damage! I know the memory issues are an entirely different kind of scary, though. Hopefully, it all comes back and this ends up being one of those stories he tells down the the line.
