Should be done today and if not today, ASAP! 2009 starts now and we need our defense to start learning the new system as early as possible. Our bowl game would be a good practice game to see what improvements were made and what we need to work on!
Plus it will make JJ/Shep/JL better practicing against a better defense.

Hopefully it is a done deal.
There is zero reason to give up an extra week of exposure to a new system. We get like 20 practices prior to a bowl game. This would be invaluable for heading into the new season. Also, I think it only helps recruiting to get the new guys in place.
With that being said, I will believe it when I see it regarding a Miles DC change. He will be circling his wagons if he does nothing.

Monday press conference.
He'll probably just say we need to get some things straight. I look forward to leading this team to a bowl game. I am proud of this team. and we have a few things we need to "fix" before a bowl game that this team has earned.

Cuz, if this guy can't recognize the DC's need to be demoted or fired, he really is a dumbass, and I'm giving him the benefit.

whether you want to admit it or not, these changes are made WAY in advance. he either has had discussions with someone already, or he will not make a change.
part of the reason, i think, he made the decision to promote from within, to go with co-suck asses def coord, is that without a complete staff in place, this allows the head coach to make extra recruiting visits.

It needs to happen within the next two weeks. I think he should fire the co's this week and start the process of finding a great one ASAP.
