Baw, I’ve had some nights in Starkville I don’t remember. I just know it was fun and there were college girl titties involved. Enjoy!

Why is Starkville referred to as StarkVegas ?
Irony, baw. Its like nicknaming a big fat guy tiny

They’ve come a long way since me and my baws rolled into the Starkville Hilton on Friday before game in 1984 at about 11:45 pm, went straight to hotel bar and bartender said last call. Somebody asked her for reference on a good bar and she said we awll close at midnight. To make things worse the stores stopped selling at midnight too. It was quite an education for some young S La baws.

Good college town and miss state fans are the least obnoxious of all sec fans.
Edit: I reserve the right to change my mind if we lose.

Yea we live on the MS Coast and I have/had 2 kids in Starkville and now one in Oxford.
We enjoy the kids being up here and enjoy the visits.
Still not the experience obviously that Tiger Stadium/Alex Box is for sure!!
I’m in Starkville now and will be wearing my P&G!!
Geaux Tigahs!

That place was about as exciting as Cleveland, MS and Delta St when I was at LSU in the 90s. It was terrible. Today is a different story. Starkville has come a LONG way, especially in the last 10 years or so.

Some of the earliest casinos outside of Las Vegas were opened in Mississippi in reasonable proximity to Starkville. The only reason to go to a game in Starkville was to hit the casinos on the trip.

Starkville is one of my favorite away games every couple of years. I regret that we will not be playing there regularly in the future. Their fan base is one of the nicest and unpretentious in the SEC. If you don’t act like an arse, they will treat you like family.

May not be a popular opinion, but Baton Rouge is not much of a college town. It is a city that happens to have a college located somewhere in its footprint.
Starkville, Oxford, Athens, and a number of other places are true college towns. If you have experienced those places, you’ll know what I mean.

Baton Rouge has never been a college town and that some of these boomers are lamenting as to why it can’t be more like Starkville is both hilarious and stupid. Par for the course on this cesspool I guess.

Having graduated from state in 2009, I can tell you that I’ve had my fill at The Bin and the other two you referenced. They were called Rock Bottom and Up Your Alley when I was there. The apartment above the one on the left (I can’t remember which one it was) was owned by the Allmans. They own the outfitter, SF Almans in Gulfport. Being from the coast, and knowing them and having fraternity connections with the son, I can tell you there were plenty of shenanigans that took place on that block from 2007 to 2009
There is another house down the road that goes right in front of The Bin about a block down on the left that I’m pretty sure the entire spring of 2009 had a monster keg party literally every night. Only made it a couple times but that’s probably for the best. It was ridiculous.
Good times…. I think

Starkville is a nice, clean college town. Polite, clean-cut kids for the most part. I couldn't get over all the co-eds jogging alone at night. That shite could never happen in BR.
My wife works with a bunch of doctors. She said after their kids flunk out of LSU, they enroll them in MSU so they can get cleaned up.

That’s my dads best friend. Every year for Christmas we always had a few SF Allman gifts. Actually just saw Ferrel yesterday
I graduated from state in 2016 and those bars were drifters, klaas room and gringos across the street. The house you reference was one of my fraternity brothers and always had a kegger going on.
Starkville has really improved in the last 15 years. So many new bars/restaurants

Always some interesting ladies at Rick’s Cafe.

These are the best college towns. The colleges like LSU who are just part of a larger shitty city really miss out on the vibe
They had to go and move LSU from Pineville. Imagine Tiger Stadium nestled in the gently rolling hills.

Haven’t been since the 90’s, but it was my favorite away place to visit for baseball.

I know years ago the bars would stop selling at like midnight or closed then…was kind of lame back then anyway
You think that's bad; when I was a kid we lived in Starkville 1969-71, it was in a DRY COUNTY. My uncle, who played for State back in the early 60s, said he and his teammates used to frequent a bar just across the county line called The Crossroads.

Funny story, right after I made my post last night, I saw several pictures on FB from some of my buddies participating in shenanigans outside The Bin
