Do you believe House will ever be thought of as an elite DC?

Not sure about elite but he was considered very good while he was at Kentucky. Hell he seemed pretty damn good last year outside of Tennessee and Aggie ( and UGA but hard to fault him for that one. ) Hopefully he finds the formula to get this defense on track.

He runs way too much zone coverage and doesn't create enough pressure on QB.

One of the things that scares me is his recruiting.
Or lack thereof.

Elite now = forcing 5 punts a game.

Unless he can coach them up better in the run game, I don’t think he will reach Tier 1. State is going to test LSU in the run game, and I hope we dont see an Achane type effort on Sat.

Depends on what elite means to you. To me, no. We don't need him to be. His schemes are a little perplexing until you think maybe it's him covering up the players which seems to be more and more the case. The Perkins thing is gonna haunt him here if he doesn't fix it. We aren't the most forgiving bunch. We still give Les shite about Russell Shepard and he was never as special.

The defense overall has been poor. They will be a work in progress all season. Whit Weeks needs to get coached up post haste IMO.

Have to find ways to get pressure, bottom line.

Define elite DC. I think he needs to field a top 3 scoring defense in the SEC to even be in that conversation.

I doubt it. This is why it’s imperative we have a great offense EVERY season.

Playing your corners 15 yards off the ball every single snap is certainly a decision.

House is a little limited by personnel for sure this season, and I think he has a really good defensive football mind, but I am starting to question his ability to communicate. To both his position coaches and players. I’m afraid he’s having trouble getting them to understand what he wants them to do. And he doesn’t have the “rah rah”, motivational personality to get them fired up to maybe overcome some of our shortcomings. I just don’t know. He may be a good coach, but bad fit for this staff and these players.
