Saw her perform in B.R. In the 70’s.
She sounded hot and looked hot.
Ran into her in a coffe shop in N.O. in late 90’s/early 2000’s. She was with Quint Davis. She didn’t sing for us, though.
She released 2or 3 great albums. Loved her.

The albums she did with Nelson Riddle were great.

I think that until she became ill, she was the best female vocalist on the planet. Her sweet spot was the 1980s when she released the records with Nelson Riddle and also Canciones de mi Padre. She was at her vocal and creative peak and it showed. Especially on Canciones.
She could also sing any genre of music without being out of place: pop, rock, Standards, jazz, country, western cowboy music, Mexican Traditional, opera, operetta, broadway. Whatever she tried, she nailed. The only contemporary singer who comes close is Lady Gaga.

That version she did of The Waiting is hair raising good. When did she do that?

You’re No Good
Original Dee Dee Warwick
As impressive as her voice was, her ability to pick out a song to cover was equally substantial
A playlist of her best covers Linda Ronstadt could choose a song

I was fortunate to see her live in NOLA; she had an incredible voice and amazing talent.
