I’m not defending JD but he seems to be a kid who gets rattled easy. He gets nervous.

Sunday night, FSU DL BLEW LSU OL off the line. They were living in the backfield. I think that threw everything off-sync, rattled Daniels and made him play worse. No, he does not have a good arm. His strength is running and he got rattled. I would have brought Nuss in for a series or two to let Daniels settle down. But kelly knows if he does he’s going to have a QB controversy on his hands.

Great idea. Nuss doesn’t get rattled. He’s ready to jump right in there at any given moment.

We simply got manhandled at nearly every position. Hard to swallow - it sure is.

JD holds the ball to long and can't throw receivers open. He makes the Oline look worse than they are. Brad Davis needs to go.

JD is a headcase. He just doesn’t have it at this level to be elite. BK had him come back though and isn’t going ruin his draft chances

Honestly, I don't see him get rattled. He is pretty consistent. He just doesn't pull the trigger on a lot of throws and he doesn't move away from pressure well. His way of avoiding pressure is to take off running.

This never accomplished what you think it will

Every qb in America gets rattled with the DL blowing throw the OL

they need to block better no matter the QB

This was JD's m.o. last season as well. His eyes drop and he waits too long and doesn't hit the WR's in the break.
His decision making is too slow. That tells me his pre-snap read is not what it should be and he sits and waits for somebody to be open and is to worried about hitting them when they make the break.

I am a JD defender. But he had time in most cases We are asking him to sit in a pocket and he is just not as comfortable. Let’s move him around and use his strengths. Only a moron would continue to not use his full skill set

If an O-line wins 60% of the snaps that’s a great day. This notion that a QB should have 4 seconds to throw each time is ridiculous. A QB should be able to make quick decisions under pressure. That’s the job. Daniels does not excel at this.

JD was running for his life all too often. Some was his fault, but some wasn’t.

The man led comebacks last year and led us to some big wins. I don’t think he gets so rattled that he loses control. He will be fine.

This is going to be a long few weeks. Until we play better against SEC Opponents this board is going to complain and overreact to everything.

Kelly doesn’t put Nuss in to avoid a QB controversy?
Well ,are you saying there’s no QB controversy now?

JD is a very talented QB, but his decision-making is extremely slow and he is hesitant to pull the trigger. That is why he is most successful on things with quick reads like the RB Wheel route to open the game, quick outs, quick slants and comebacks (think of his go to play to Nabers). Outside of those, he struggles and only gets out of it because of his legs. Problem is, this severely limits the offense, and ironically the running game.

Travis for FSU is the opposite. He takes his progressions, makes adjustments on the fly (i.e. slight hesitation to get a window or his WR open), and then makes a quick and confident decision.

That was the difference in the offenses in all honesty. One QB opened up the run game, while the other stymied it.

Again, JD is very talented without question, but will always be limited by his slow decision making. He could improve this, but right now it doesn't seem that he has at all and it is year 5.
