Agree. And I would add that (DT QB) is the kind of game CBK prefers and is most comfortable with.

Totally agree with this statement. JD will win minimum 8 games possibly 10 games gaining 800 to 1000 yards on the ground, this is Kelly's comfort zone.

Don't mean to sound critical of CBK or JD. It may work. JD's A-game is a tough out for an opponent. Out staff needs to figure out a way to get him on track when he's struggling.

First and best step is to call better plays in goal line and short yardage to utilize his skill set. We left 14 points out there unscored in the first half in those situations and that was IMHO squarely on the coaches.

In some games it won't matter because we're just more talented, but in games like Sunday it matters.

Qb sneaks work over 90% of the time under center in 4th and short situations. But a lot of college coaches refuse to call them for some reason. Im sure thatll change in the coming years as the analytics become more prevalent

It look like BK told Jayden what are doing after he came to the sidelines.
I think he misread a couple of plays.
As far as where to gove the ball or keep it.

these decisions come after committee meetings with the other coaches, and stubbornness and pride have nothing to do with it.

Les Miles says hello.

I get your point but don’t believe that is always the case Les Miles showed us that a head coach can be so stubborn to the point it cost him his job, and he still wouldn’t change.

In the coaches minds he gives them the best option to win.

JD just needs that competitive edge "CBK"

Considering his improvement in the passing game later in the season, I'm sure he knew he wanted to come back and try for the SEC title and CFP again and I'm sure BK encouraged that considering Nuss can be a INT machine and doesn't have the rushing ability of JD.
Granted the passing game improvements that JD made still were not consistent, but there were a few games where he was getting the ball out fast on timing routes. So the assumption would be that he would continue the improving process and this was our assumption as well.
BK isn't going to pull somebody that he convinced to come here and started the year off as a Heisman Contender.
It will have to be a lot of interceptions, fumbles, and really blatantly bad decisions that will get him pulled.
JD is too risk adverse to throw a bunch of risky throws that could be INT's and making a few bad decisions on triple option plays in a game and hanging on to the ball too long won't get him pulled.

I agree and this is one reason I am done with BK. He thinks he is bigger than LSU and he is a hard headed individual that will not play the best players. Reminds me of Miles.

We are 2 years into a 4 year program with BK. Relax.

Maybe, but I have issues with more than two of the play calls on those two drives.

Tennessee lines up under center a lot in short yardage and they are largely a shotgun team.

You often hear as the excuse - these QB's are all used to shotgun not lining up under center. You know what helps that? Practicing taking snaps under center.

I’m good with Nuss going but if you have two candidates for a job.

one that has 5 years experience proven to take care of the ball make some plays and is steady even tho he has a limited ceiling.

The other candidate has less than a year of experience has some high highs but some low lows and you aren’t really sure what you are going to get but he could be great.

You can choose which ever candidate and either of them can be the right choice depending on what you are looking for but you can’t say the second guy is more qualified than the first guy.

What FSU did in short yardage was dare us to throw the ball. Not all the play calling was bad. JD missed some plays. It happens.

We could try going under center, jumbo packages, jump passes, toss dives, wildcat, etc.

When Nuss has played he hasn’t looked good enough to start. Why do you keep thinking he is better? If you believe practice reports that he is amazing did you also believe them when they praised our OL and secondary and running game? Anything heard in the summer should be ignored.

that's what a team should do short yardage on a constricted field. We pay those guys alot of $ to do better than they did in putting our guys in a better postion to win. I think they will in most games - they did not this game.

Stubbornness and pride works its way to every single corporate company. Think about a time where there was a big decision to make. Who made it? The most executive there. Were there people who disagreed with him? Yes. Did anyone say shite to disagree with him besides those near his level? No. Did he listen to the ones that disagreed with him a couple levels below him? No, he did it his way.

LSU football decision making is no different. BK's ego, hell any head coach ego has a monumental effect on the program

Agree 100%! Does not have a great track record while at ND of QBs that were that great. The dual threat QB is a novelty and needs to be done with! I'll take Brady, Manning, Brees, Aikman, Montana any day of the week!
