There's a lot of BK hate going on lately, but after the absolute mess he took over in the wake of Coach O leaving us with less than 40 players or whatever it was and a WR playing QB in the bowl game....

If you were told before Kelly coached a single game, that in year 1 we would beat Bama and win the West, and in year 2 we'd start with a bad loss to FSU, who in their right mind would not be happy with this overall result?

That doesn't excuse the Sunday performance, it was awful. Every position unit lost their matchup, no question. But this is a big picture discussion.

Big picture, Kelly has outperformed all of our expectations thus far, so it's odd that this is getting lost in translation somehow.

We've lost 3 of our last 4 games, all in pretty embarrassing fashion. Losing to FSU in back to back years was not part of my expectations for him.

I don't think it was the loss or even the score that has a bad taste in everyone's mouth.

It was a lot of little things that added up.

The biggest being the players giving up / collapsing in the 4th.

It was a 7 point game to start the quarter. The next 15 minutes showed us completely falling apart, giving little to no effort on both sides of the ball.

Then there's the frustrating things of JD not making any progress from last season, AA not really being that Swiss army knife we had hoped, Perk being used about as ineffectively as you possibly could, and some other guys just not stepping up.

I really don't think we'd be having this meltdown just from a loss to a good team in the opener. Feels like there's way bigger problems that will hurt us throughout the season if not corrected.

For him to lose against FSU last year with 39 scholarship players and then do what he did shows what is possible. No excuses for this game but he is not les miles like people are making him out to be. He will do what it takes to win and I think we only lose one more game this year. People need to lighten up, this can be the catalyst just like last year. And FSU will be there til the end this year. Better to get this out of the way now and kick it into gear after week 1. No one else in the SEC put it on the line like we did this week and it will pay dividends

When a negative trend develops, you don’t go back to a period before the hire and say “but before we knew anything, we’d have taken this, right?”.

My daughter is a good student, but if she did great for most of the year then badly failed 3 of her final 4 tests I would be concerned.

The playcalling on both sides is what bothered me the most

Why are you apologizing when everyone here can see he is not doing everything he can do to win? No excuses.

This simply isn’t true

One game better than expectations last year

One game worse so far this year

What does that equate to?

I’ve posted this a few times, but last season so far exceeded expectations. That sped up the timeline in the eyes of fans and media, but didn’t necessarily speed up the actual program building timeline.

It was a double edged sword, the success in 2022. Now Kelly can’t run from that, the expectation has been set, fair or not. I’m confident we’re still building a championship program.
