How is it possible that we continue to lose to teams with Louisiana players???? Maybe our recruiting is the root cause of our problems. We can't continue to lose the top LA players to other schools. Until we fix the recruiting problem, we will be an also ran team. The top two players in the state this year are committed elsewhere.

The old "stay home and play for LSU" sales pitch means nothing since NIL. These kids are getting lots of money to go elsewhere and we are going to have to figure out how to compete. Otherwise we will be Portal State University every year.

Because some Louisiana players want to get the heck out of Louisiana like Keon Coleman.

We need to be able to recruit all over and not just Louisiana. See bama and uga. The idea that f staying in state is over as we knew it. Every game is on tv. The world is more open to moving around. Plus there are many who see an opportunity to get out of Louisiana bc of the shite hole area they live in.

Coleman would not help us, you have to be able to deliver the ball

Some dudes just don't wanna stay in state. Same reason a lot of people are leaving for out of state jobs after graduating college. Keon coleman literally said he was recruited out of high school and in the portal by LSU and just didn't wanna play in state.

Look at Ohio State.

They are snatching kids from GA, TX & FL to go to the frozen wasteland (I grew up there) that is Ohio. I'd say that's a tougher job than getting kids from wherever to LSU. Yet they do it every year and very well...

Baton Rouge is a tough sell. We went to 5 SEC schools this summer on recruiting visits and they all had features much cooler than anything BR has. Returning to Gainesville this weekend for an unofficial…everyone says that place is a shithole, but it was cool this summer. We’ll see how it looks when crowded. Going to Oxford next weekend.

In 2019 every good team we played had a Louisiana guy as one of their best players.

Oklahoma - Cee Dee lamb
Clemson - Etienne
Bama - Devonta Smith

Louisiana is such a shithole state to live in compared to most other states though. We rank at the bottom of every ranking for something good, and at the top for every ranking of the poorest quality of life. I wanted to leave when I turned 18 because I was tired of looking at trash everywhere.

Maybe because he was the "42nd ranked" wr in the country out of high school according to 247. We landed Hilton (5) Deion Smith (8), BT (9) and Nabers (19).
