We are going out Thursday thru Tuesday for the Auburn/Cal game. Have lots of scheduled tours/activities, but have free time built in all day Friday until a sunset cruise and then all day Saturday until 7:30 local time kickoff of the game in Berkeley. We will be a group of 8 men and women all about 50 and in good health. Not looking for a super strenuous hike or other activity, but something moderately so is fine. Thanks!

If you just want touristy things to do in SF itself, I would say:
Ferry Building
Chinatown
Fisherman's Wharf
Coit Tower
Lombard Street

Muir Woods, Alcatraz, and the Presidio would be my top pics.

We already have Muir Woods planned. None of us are interested in Alcatraz with our fairly limited time. Will definitely go to the Presidio.

The Giants are in town all that weekend into the next week. Go to a game. It is an incredible baseball experience.

I heard there is a few locations where you can asked to be dropped off and test your survival skills.

Golden Gate Park is lovely and flat. It offers museums, gardens, paths, etc. LINK It's big, so plan your time accordingly. Take 9th out of park to south to explore shops, food & drink on Irving. If you want a tourist-free urban hill walk 16th up to Krikham and climb the steps even higher. A trendy shop/eat/drink area is on Valencia centered at 18th. Green Apple Books on the Park on 9th is good. Bernal Cutlery 766 Valencia is outstanding.
With 8 people two Lyfts/Ubers may cost less than 8 MUNI/BART cards. However you travel never park a car on the street anywhere. Car smash and grab is very bad.Teams cruise the city looking for targets.
The aquarium in Monterrey is very much worth a visit.

SF sounds much worse than NOLA. Criminals running free.

On our way back east now. Had a GREAT time in Bay Area. Cal-Berkeley campus, stadium and fans are awesome. Golden Gate Park is immense and very cool. The Presidio area was fantastic. We lucked up with our catamaran Bay cruise with very little fog at the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz. Muir Woods was surreal and definitely worth going. Sonoma and Napa were cool to see, but not my favorite part of the trip. Monterey and Carmel was a bit of a haul from SF, but we did a private tour and drove along the PCH and it was a day well spent. We stayed away from the areas downtown that we knew we had no business in and everything was perfectly fine. Highly recommend visiting the area.

Claremont Hotel - get a drink and sit at their bar and watch the sunset.
Eat at Bar Cesar on Piedmont or Artichoke Basilles Pizza in on Telegraph in Oakland (right outside Berkeley).
