Tourism has been cut in half this year in Nola. Nola.com believes it is heat related. Nothing about crime is referenced.

Good thing we have the OT for real reporting.

Probably some truth to it. It’s hot as balls and most of what’s fun to do in Nola is outdoors.

Nola in the summer isn’t a great place to be.

Some old head said "paycheck is cut in half" and you translate to tourism is cut in half?

Glad to see your alt account made it past the admin Mr LSU.

New Orleans was able to weather the post-covid crime bump with tourism because people were weary of going out of the country.

Now that people are willing to travel to Europe/Central America again New Orleans will see those numbers drop massively. Pre-covid tourism numbers were already looking pretty rough.

Hot or not I will never go back unless major changes occur and we all know that it will get worse before it gets better. Taking my money to the River Ranch area of Lafayette isnt the same as New Orleans but my chances of getting dead much, much lower.

Want to dedicate a long weekend to visit the WW2 museum in entirety. However I have no desire for it to be in in NOLA. Wish I would have made it a priority in the past. Maybe, eventually. But no plans to currently.

Should note that these numbers don't reflect fall/winter numbers with Saints games.

Not saying that crime plays zero factor in it, but summer is always abysmally slow for NOLA tourism, and when you’re having record heat, of course it’s gonna take a bigger dip. Downvote away.

“I’d rather go to New Orleans in the summer when it’s 100 degrees than the Rocky Mountains”, said no one ever.
