I've been looking at getting a portable griddle mainly for tailgating and maybe some camping and I've come down to two. The Blackstone griddle or the Razor Griddle. Im leaning towards the razor bc it's cheaper ($220 on Amazon vs $300) and I believe I'll have to buy a new line and regulator for using propane for both.

There are a few things I definitely wouldn’t go cheap on, cooking appliances are definitely one of them.

Looks like you're also dealing with stainless cooking surface vs cast iron, which is a matter of personal preference more important than the money to me. I prefer stainless myself, so would go with the razor, but I was given a Blackstone and that thing has kicked arse on my back porch for 6 years. Just gotta use it regularly and oil it.

I just got that Blackstone for the same purpose. Used it once and it works well. Gets really hot if you warm it up.
I bought a hose from lowes and didn't change out the regulator. The helpful guy told me I didn't need a new one. Am I gonna blow up?

I like this combo because it is both portable and versatile. You can take the legs off in 5 minutes and put it in your trunk, even with a sedan rather than SUV/pickup. Also the griddle top comes off easily and you can make red sauce, fry chicken, boil crawfish, etc.. on the burners.
There are a lot of goofballs on the facebook griddle groups trying to show how to fry chicken in a tin on top of the griddle. Just do it the right way in a pot. The griddle is designed to distribute all that heat and is a PITA for making stuff in pot.

I have a similar Blackstone, the 17 inch griddle but also has a side burner. It came with the little metal regulator, but I found using the little 1 lb propane tanks that it would freeze up on longer cooks. I bought one of these and use a 20 lb tank now. No issues.

I have the bigger 4 burner razor and it has been great. Like one poster said it gets really hot (even on low) when you you let it warm for a long time. Mine had some grease film on it that i had to burn and scrub off but the factory said it was normal.
I bought Razor over Blackstone because the big one folds down for easier transport. You dont seem to have that issue with these smaller griddles.
