Seems like having Perkins spy Travis would be a great way to neutralize his (Perkins) effect on the game. Since that's not what we're really trying to do, I don't think you see it very much.

I agree when you are talking about a traditional spy but Perkins attacks when he spies. The idea is flush the QB with the DL and then Perkins attacks like a heat seeking missile. If we are worried about their WRs vs our DBs, we need to move their QB off his mark and then have Perkins make his life miserable.

I can’t agree. Perkins has nah his biggest impact, and it’s been a huge impact, in that role and by rushing the passer.

I realize that they are changing things up, but I’d bet that he is in that role on many 3rd downs.
