re: GOP is simply not a politically cohesive party right now

We’ve voted the GOP into power multiple times only to see them fail to do what they said they were going to do. We get a tax cut, more deficit spending, bigger govt and usually some foreign military engagement.
Trump was the first GOP President that actually was pushing to do what he said and they impeached him for it. Failing to fund the border wall and McCain voting to keep Obamacare after railing against it for years was the crossing point for me.
I’m tired of voting for people that bullshite me and fail to deliver when we put the, in the position to do so.

A portion of the base, and this is only until the next shiny object comes to sweep them away.
Most of these people supported GWB and the Tea Party. They have no ideology and just rely on identity politics and the newest, coolest political avatars their friends are using.

The GOP sucks but at least its voters are capable of changing the party and bending it to their will.
The problem comes when the minority-splinter party is trying to hijack the larger party and holding it hostage. You have multiple Patriots who constantly post that they'll never support an "Establishment" candidate again and would rather the DEMs win and have America burn, than support someone other than Trump. This just ensures Democratic domination in the end.

Um, Trump is literally in your first comment. He failed to do what he said he was going to do. His major accomplishments were GOPE/Establishment policies created and drafted by the GOPE (tax cuts, judicial nominees).

you mean like desantis' are all driven by the legislature?

Ryan and the GOP blocked funding for the wall and McCain voted to keep Obamacare. Trump did what he could but got zero support from a Republican controlled Congress….who also fanned the flames of the Russia collusion hoax. I don’t see how you can lay this at his feet.
I’ve always said his biggest weakness was creating enemies he didn’t need, but if you think he had GOP support for his agenda you’re deluding yourself.

Things are only getting worse . You have a group that is just a light version of the democrats and another group that is against big government.

Because of Trump's style and inability to lead.

Yes. I already said he failed.

Did he accomplish the goals, or make enemies of politicians he needed to accomplish the goals? He made enemies.
What did he do to mend things after he burned bridges? Nothing. He just burned bridges with their allies to embolden them.

There aren't enough libertarians in the Trump era to say this. That group isn't big enough to register today.

Just look at this board. The most prolific posters on this board claim to be "real" Republicans and constantly pit Republican candidates against each other, to the point of making brutal personal attacks on Republican candidates.
All the while they think they're actually helping Republicans get elected.
You just don't see Democrats doing that.

McCain voted to keep Obamacare
No, he didn't.
He voted for the people of Arizona, and against the shite bill Republicans put on the table. Six percent of Arizona citizens supported that trash.
Six. Percent.

Yeah, there’s some truth to that. But those people treat politics like cheering for a football team. There are just as many democrat voters who do that. It’s just that the average person doesn’t follow politics all that closely and votes the way their neighbors and friends do. Trump energizing these people (unfortunately on both sides) is an outlier. But all the young conservatives coming out of high school are in agreement about where the country needs to go, and it’s not in an establishment/GOO way. Even Nate Hochman, who came up through traditional conservative training structures, worked for the National Review, Jonah Goldberg, and DeSantis, ended up getting fired for posting that Nazi meme. That’s who the young republicans are now, not Nazis obviously, but let’s say sympathetic to Nazis. That’s what the party is going to be in a decade

So it’s Trumps fault that the GOPe blocked his agenda? I guess the solution then is to elect the GOPe?
This makes no sense.
Also, where Trump had the authority to act on his own he pulled us from the Paris Accords, revised trade agreements, pressed NATO to at least pay something, had us energy independent, etc.
Are you incapable of acknowledging this despite your hatred of Trump?

So, you determine this from watching a debate? Isn't the idea of a debate to self-promote?

No shite. I already said the DEMs aren't as cohesive as many Patriots on this board project.
They just don't have a candidate trying to burn it all down if he doesn't win. Again, I pointed out the difference in Bernie Sanders and Trump and how they treat their in-party competition. Bernie also ran on ideas and not just attacking people randomly, so any sting of his positions doesn't linger with those people on the other end of the attacks.

This will change with the wind in time, too. I bet most end up back on the libertarianism train in time, once Trumpism and its huge government fades away.

I don't understand the Trump no war line. We were involved in war every day of his presidency. Everything Trump accomplished was a McConnell idea, even right down to whom he should nominate for SC justices. Had any republican won in 2016, the political accomplishments that you claim Trump are responsible for would have all happened. We may have even accomplished getting rid of Obamacare if Trump hadn't made it so personal with McCain.

Yep! 100% cold hard facts!
When Trump won in 2016, they started the process of sabotaging him. Trump called them out.

He literally attacked key people who he needed to support his agenda. That's a terrible strategy for coalition building, don't you think? Nobody forced Trump to do that, in fact, his supporters LOVE that about him. They just don't like the cost of that strategy.
How is that not his fault? He could have relied on other strategies but has quintupled down on this one (to the cheers of his NPCs)

They are responsible for Trump's biggest policy wins.
They cut taxes, got GOPE judges into the federal judiciary (flipping the USSC), and got regulations slashed.
These GOPE policies are the things Trump's fans use to defend him, while trashing the GOPE as terrible on policy. It's hilarious to watch in real time. If you really are scared of supporting the "GOPE/Establishment", then why do you promote their victories and claim these GOPE victories are Trump's? You clearly like their policies.

Hatred of Trump? Why are you acting so emotionally and using histrionics?
