I imagine Trump can put up an asset worth $200k to post, so he won't have to rely on a bondsman.

The question for a property surety would be does he have any real property that is unencumbered. Many wealthy people do not. Posting the $200k in cash would make sense unless he expects to be able to make 15% (normal high dollar bond percentage in GA) on that $200k while it sits. If he does and doesn't have unencumbered property to use the $30k bond fee might actually make sense for him depending on the time and his average returns.

Any bail amount is silly. Like Trump is going to flee the country.

That was my first thought as well, but it's likely just a politically motivated PR ploy (so they can say, "Did you see how large his bail is? This must be serious, he's really bad.").

Lmfao one of the places that lets violent criminals out on no bail to go out and offend again. Imagine supporting this sham like DeSantis supporters are

A couple years ago a waste of human flesh smashed my windows and burglarized my car at the Georgia Tech hotel/conference center on Spring Street in Midtown. He stole exactly two things from my car with all that damage: my iPhone charging cord and my Advil. They actually caught the human debris after a GT cop who was on patrol heard my car alarm.

He had been released from a two year prison sentence just about 3 months prior. And, he had already been arrested once for theft since his release from prison. He was out on release with no bail when he broke into my car. And, even better, when victim response follow up team from the DA contacted me after his arraignment for burglarizing my car, they informed me that he had been released without bail again.

He was a career criminal.

Since it is a "racketeering" indictment, are they going to seize his financial accounts to constrain him even further, to take away his ability to defend himself?

Racketeering is as unconstitutional as the 1934 Firearms Act.

Have the come out with newest Trump fanfic erotica cards yet? I was really hoping to get a Trump wrestling an alligator in the swamp with a half naked swooning damsel in the background.

I’m sure there is a relevant Venn diagram of MAGA folks and scat lovers. Should be a big hit.

I will never again in my life spend any time in the state of Georgia. When I drive through it, I will gas up at the Florida border and refill somewhere in the Carolinas.

Dear diary,

Today I was so upset over Trump’s self inflicted legal quagmire that I drove through Alabama, Tennessee and North Carolina to get from Jacksonville, Florida to Hilton Head, South Carolina.

Why stop there? In her deranged leftist ideology, everyone in the GOP is part of the racket.
