I just got out. Call me pleasantly surprised. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I think it was solid. Was it perfect? Of course not. Was I entertained? Hell yes.

The cast was great. The story wasn’t anything ground-breaking as far as superhero origin movies go, but there were plenty of great moments. I loved the family dynamic, which was really the glue that carried it.

I rolled my eyes when I saw George Lopez’s name scroll by at the beginning, but he was fantastic.

It felt a lot more like an MCU movie, which is probably a good thing, considering the state of DC movies sans Batman.

I’m sure it’ll be on MAX soon, so give it a shot then if the theater’s not your style. I think I saw enough tonight to have faith that James Gunn is going to right DC’s ship.

Why? This movie was filmed way before Gunn took over

Reviews so far are just purely average. Just more forgettable superhero CGI jerkoff fest that some people will enjoy. Which I guess is actually a step up if you consider DC's history.

Took my daughter Thursday. We enjoyed it. Little slow first 20 min but was an enjoyable summer flick.

It's a not as good version of ant-man. It's ok, a one time watch kind of flick.

Like I said, I enjoyed it, but I can offer some complaints off the top of my head:

I didn’t like the forced romance. It didn’t feel earned, and there wasn’t a lot of chemistry between the two. I think it would have been better had they just remained friends instead of whatever that was.

We know nothing about Jaime. Hobbies. Interests. Past. Motivations outside of getting a job. The movie ended, and we still didn’t know all that much about him.

Susan Sarandon. Just awful.

Cheese factor was through the roof on this one even for a comic book movie. I thought it was a painfully bad movie all the way around. That said, I’m sure kids less than 10 years old would enjoy it.

If they focused the bulk of their advertising on YT they dun fricked up b/c I’m far from the only person who uses AB to avoid their ads.

I guess the one positive of this bombing is if WB does a proper Doomsday arc w/Superman is it will be easy for them to justify BB getting absolutely wrecked by Doomsday like in the comics. (Though I’m pretty sure that was the Ted Kord version)

I am a superhero genre guy. I love them all and can’t get enough.

That being said…. This movie sucked. Worst superhero flick I can remember.

My daughter went with her friends after school. The other two girls loved it, thought it was fun. My daughter, who at 14 is turning into a bit of a movie snob, waited until she got in the car to say it wasn’t as bad as captain marvel, so it had that going for it, lol.

I thought it was a lot of fun and was very pleasantly surprised. I rarely go to the theater at all anymore and wasn't planning on seeing this, but I kept hearing really good reviews and I'm glad I went. It's probably one of my favorite DC films and I would say it's better than just about any Marvel thing in the past two years, with the exception of NWH.
