Introducing the soon-to-be LNG Center for Excellence at McNeese State University

The soon-to-be-constructed LNG Center for Excellence at McNeese State University is expected to create career opportunities for Louisiana students who want to work in the Liquified Natural Gas industry. This morning the executive director of the center, Jason French, joined us.
The center began with a $2.8 million grant from the United States Department of Commerce in 2020 and has evolved into a transformative project for McNeese. Construction is scheduled to begin in October this year and is expected to be completed in late 2024 or early 2025.
With classes, hands-on training, and mentorship programs the center will give students the opportunity to learn and work in the LNG industry.
The building will be a 24,000-square-foot complex on Sale Road near Ryan St. on the McNeese Campus.

I am surprised Sowela didn't make a move on something like this first.

Who got the job?
IDK but it wouldn't shock me if it is Keiland Construction building it. They do a lot of work for McNeese.

Idk about that, it seems the further west you get in LA, the better stuff works. At least in my experience.

I think McNeese had to do this because Sowela crushes them on all things industrial.

thats because Sowela took the process tech side very serious....hired a bunch of old top operators that were retired to teach and then built better labs
McNeese engineering is really good when it comes to industrial though. The labs are very legit.

They finally got an AD that sees the big picture and NIL, etc. He’s more of a “if you build it they will come” mindset.
Not a big deal to others but for McNeese it’s great news.

Keith is a good guy. He and I worked together on a project years ago when he was first starting out on his own. The project never came to fruition but from working with him on that the success he has had doesn't surprise me.

Is this a joke?
If not….very reactive.
LSU needs a Social Justice Center of Excellence.

Even lsu knows that ilk doesn't spend money or donate as alumni. I'd like to see lsu start a trade college
