Give it some space but not venomous. Rat snakes can have a temper.

As the resident snake expert, I have to inform you that snakes lack legs and feet, so I’m not buying this whole story about the snake “walking in the door”.

I try to understand people who innately do not like snakes. However, that is one beautiful young serpent.

Juvenile corn snake (Pantherophis guttatus). AKA "red rat snake".
