US Steel back up for sale after "Unsolicited Offers"

Wonder who would make an unsolicited offer for a 122 year old company valued at 5 billion?

Their stock ticker seems to be $X.

Probably someone who thinks they can cut costs (probably try to decertify the USW union contracts or at least renegotiate the existing labor contracts), clean up the balance sheet by selling off a few parts using the money to pay down debt and then sell the new company for $10 billion.

would be ironic if it was Marathon Oil "buying" them. i think it was 80s/90s that US Steel bought Marathon....
