re: It’s almost 2019 all over again with Hilton, Anderson, Nabors and Lacy

I like that they are all LA guys.
Louisiana produces the most underrated talent in the country just look at the NFL. Id take a 3 star LA kid over most 4 and some 5 star kids from other states. Especially on the perimeter, LB and Rb areas. Need to search the country for the lineman most years.

The WRs will be really really good this year IMO, but slow the roll on comparing it to 2019.

The level of stupidity in this statement is truly baffling. I hope you're just joking OP. Otherwise that means that there are human beings this retardedly stupid walking the earth with job responsibilities.
Other than the fact that we have wide receivers now, and the 2019 team also had wide receivers, there's no fricking similarity. We haven't played a single snap.

This is what's called a buried lead! He is back to pre-injury speed.

2019 is in the past I just wanna be the best team in 2023-24. Beating Bama 2 years in a row would be great

2019 saw 2 of the best WRs in the NFL. None of ours this year are close to that.

It definitely feels like it. I don’t understand the downvotes. We need a RB, but nobody expected CEH to be what he was in 2019 either. We lack
Depth as some positions, but team is going to be really good.

There will never be another 2019 offense until there is another Joe Burrow at lsu.
That offense was the perfect storm.

Brian Thomas Jr. and Sampson should also contribute a lot at receiver.
I expect Lacy to definitely be improved after getting the SEC experience last season. And as previously noted several times already, look for Anderson to display his outstanding kick return skills as well.
Cain should get plenty of tough yards and there's more depth at running back for LSU this season with the two exciting freshmen waiting in the wings.

This WR group can be very good but the'19 WR's were on another level. Also they had the best QB ever throwing it to them (no respect to JD).

Although it's tough to say we are looking at a repeat of 2019 - I think there are some intriguing similar trends that could put us on a path to really having an outstanding season that possibly rivals that amazing 2019 season:
First, Joe Burrow was good his first year at LSU, but by no means the Heisman Trophy winner he was in 2019. Also, no one (outside of LSU) had Justin Jefferson as the stud 1st rounder he became - he had 54 catches, 800+ yards and 6 TDs as a sophomore. Chase was solid during his freshman year but still didn't put up any kind of dominant display. CEH was behind Nick Brossette in 2018 in practically every rushing statistic. No one, nationally, saw the potential for the momentous uptick LSU experienced offensively, but the same similarities were there for 2018 to 2019 as there are in 2022 to 2023, and possibly even some more positives that weren't there in 2019.
Daniels is in his second year and posted more rushing and passing yards, rushing and passing touchdowns, better passing percentage, less interceptions and a better passer rating in his first year versus Burrow's (not saying he's better than Burrow - just that he had better stats in their respective first years).
CEH had one of the greatest statistical seasons in LSU history in 2019 at the running back position, and LSU had TDP as the second RB, and John Emery as the third. Well, for this year's running back room, Noah Cain, Josh Williams, and Logan Diggs 2022 stats are all in line with CEH's production from 2018 AND LSU still has John Emery - as our 4th running back.
And though all three wide receivers showed glimpses of their electric potential, JJ, Chase, and Marshall's statistical production in 2018 was less than dominant. This year, Nabors is coming off of a more productive sophomore season than JJ's 2018, Thomas' was better than Chase's, and Lacey's was better than Marshall's. Again, not saying this year's group is better than 2019's corps (because that would be ridiculous), just that their 2022 statistical production was better than that group's 2018 production. Throw in Hilton and Anderson and the odds are definitely in our favor of having a dominant group of wide receivers.
At TE, Mason Taylor's 2022 was better than either Stephen Sullivan or Foster Moreau's 2018 and just slightly off of Thaddeus Moss's 2019. Add in a 4 star frosh and a stud transfer and our TE room is looking primed.
In case you missed it, LSU's defense this year is loaded - Aranda may have been more experienced, but this defense has dominant studs everywhere, and a couple (possible) generational talents in Smith and Perkins.
Finally (and sorry for hijacking this post), CBK is better coach than CEO. He's better at X's and O's, he's better prepared, and he doesn't have to rely on his coordinators to make all of the calls on game day. This team has a real chance to win it all this year and maybe even build that argument to be compared to 2019.
But, that's just my opinion.

How many years it took for the rant to try and compare the team to 2019.
