Since our title in 2003, something special seems to happen to this football team every 4 years. We're either competing for a title or a player breaks out and has an amazing season. I really like our chances of continuing this trend in 2023.

2003 - National Champions
2007 - National Champions
2011 - Made it to the National Championship game but lost. Tyrann Mathieu had a Heisman caliber season.
2015 - Somewhat of an outlier, but we started 7-0 and ranked #2 in the initial CFP poll. Leonard Fournette had a Heisman caliber season.
2019 - National Champions, Joe Burrow won the Heisman.
2023 - ???

2015 really stained this recent tradition. They had high expectations on that season too.

Finished 2-3 with an embarrassing loss to Arkansas at home. Good thing we got those games erased from history.

2015 was the only year in that list where the starting QB wasn’t a 4th or 5th year player.

Guess what Jayden Daniels is?

One of the bigger letdowns in home games I've attended (1997 OM and 2002 Bama slightly edge it). Beautiful weekend and team should have been on fire after the loss in Tuscaloosa the weekend prior. Still had a shot at a NY6 bowl. We looked half asleep.

Shows how poor the coaching was that year. That team had fournette, guice, harris (wasn't good but should've been with a good coach), pocic, d williams, chark, dural, malachi dupre, tre white, donte, jamal adams, beckwith, deebo. Straight loaded.

The Les Miles effect. He was good enough in 07. His ego caught up with him in 2011 & he was a lost cause by 2015.

Closest I've felt since that game was Auburn 2021. That was just horrible to watch in person. Missed tackles EVERYWHERE.

Yes, that Arkansas team was terrible. I think they finished like 6-1 that year.

That game fricking sucked. Temp was in the 30s and we got absolutely demolished.

Wow. Only Les miles can pull that off.

Will Campbell wins the Outland Award.

Trey Holly and Kaleb Jackson named Co-Freshmen the Year in the SEC.

Tigers win the SEC West again, the SEC Title game against Georgia and National Championship game against Michigan.

2015 - Played in Glendale, Arizona
2023 - To be played in Houston
2024 - To be played in Atlanta
2025 - To be played in Miami

I guess it's time to start a new trend: Playing for championships outside of NOLA.

One of the biggest snubs in history. He didn’t deserve to win at the end of the season, but he led the country in rushing YPG in the SEC West and wasn’t even a finalist. If the Mcneese game isn’t cancelled that year, he may have been the 1st SEC player to hit 2K in a season.

While not New Orleans, it would be close.
