Christine and I were in town this week for a nice getaway before Dauber and I start fall camp.

I treated her to a lovely plate of cheese fries at Cooter Browns but I noticed that someone has felled the large oak at the corner of Leake and Carrollton. All of the shade for that lovely corner is now gone!

I was getting gas by there one day and someone had a horse tied up by that tree while they were in Cooter Browns. the horses leg got caught up in the rope and it proceeded to go berserk for a solid 2-3 minutes.
Never know what wonders New Orleans will bring to you.

A loss of one of our heritage live oaks is a loss for everyone. These majestic creatures cut wind speeds in hurricane and reduce temperatures in the summer significantly. Give Christine and Dauber my regards and enjoy being in one of the world's great cities.
