Head to head, DeSantis almost doubles to 35% and Trump stays around 55%.
If Trump really felt like he had a 37 point lead he wouldn’t be pushing daily conspiracy theories about DeSantis.

Establishment donors knew it was a win win to back DeSantis.
First if their boy Ron beats Trump it takes Trump out of the picture and they have their puppet. That's a win for GOP establishment donors.
Second if Ron loses to Trump he is taken out as the heir to MAGA for future elections. That is a win.
It was/is low risk for the Trump hating GOP establishment to back Ron.
But Ron made a hasty decision to run against MAGA in 2024 when he had a really good shot at being the heir to MAGA in 2028.
First if their boy Ron beats Trump it takes Trump out of the picture and they have their puppet. That's a win for GOP establishment donors.
Second if Ron loses to Trump he is taken out as the heir to MAGA for future elections. That is a win.
It was/is low risk for the Trump hating GOP establishment to back Ron.
But Ron made a hasty decision to run against MAGA in 2024 when he had a really good shot at being the heir to MAGA in 2028.
