What’s the best spray for a yard to prevent fleas. Got stray cats in the hood and it appears they are brInging fleas into the yard. Puppy has bites on his belly after going out to potty.

Anything with permethrin.
ETA: this is to spray the yard.

How old is the puppy? Bravecto is a pill you give every 3 months that takes care of fleas and ticks but they are $90. each pill. Don't know if there is a minimum age or pounds.
You might get attacked by the fleas rather than the puppy, though. Not fun. There are yard sprays, also.

Bravo Bravecto...I tried a few things but nothing worked like Bravecto. That stuff is magic.

Talstar liquid every 2 weeks for 2 months. Then alternate between liquid and granual every 3 months.
Fleas, spiders, roaches will be gone

About 10 years ago I treated my yard with nematodes specifically for fleas. After treating once, the nematodes become a permanent part of the ecosystem. Since treatment, the nematodes have apparently naturally spread throughout the neighbors yards. Where we had infestations every year since forever, now fleas are rarely noticeable.
We have lots of stray/outdoor cats in the neighborhood. Lots of squirrels also (which are a vector for fleas).
I'll find the specific Louisiana effective variety we used and post it here.
It is cheaper than a single insecticide treatment and seems to be a permanent solution. If I recall correctly, fairly immediate results as well.
Steinernema Carpocapsae Nematodes
This is what/where I purchased:

Had a terrible flea problem several years ago. Went from hundreds of fleas on each dog to zero.
One dose in the spring should carry them through the flea season.

There are quite a few once monthly pills that kills fleas and ticks. Bravecto works for three months, BUT doesn't work past eight weeks to kill the Lone Star tick.
Taken from the Bravecto website:
They also make all in one pills for fleas, ticks, and heartworm prevention. I mail order my stuff from Budget Pet Care.
