The worlds biggest Internet company thinks the Internet is too dangerous for their own employees. 2500 will be reduced to no-net workstations, as a start:

Google is running the program to reduce the risk of cyberattacks, according to internal materials. "Googlers are frequent targets of attacks," one internal description viewed by CNBC stated. If a Google employee's device is compromised, the attackers may have access to user data and infrastructure code, which could result in a major incident and undermine user trust, the description added. Turning off most internet access ensures attackers cannot easily run arbitrary code remotely or grab data, the description explained.

This actually makes a lot of sense.

WW3 is basically already happening, it’s just 95% cyber nitpicking and economic sanctions

i have a friend that was a large hosting company (before AWS took over) and was in charge of security. he couldn't implement any "measures" (i.e. blocking ports or porn sites etc.) because it would interfere with their creativity and positive work environment.

he left in frustration.

that company was ransomwared and about 4 million people lost their hosted exchange. They lost half a billion

It’s totally a great thing, because no virus known to man (like Melissa) has ever spread on internal networks. Morons. It’s not that Hard to force white listed apps. Etc.
