ButterKrisp is back. I grew up on their hot glazed donuts- which IMO puts Krispy Kreme, Mary Lee's etc. to shame- but to each their own. The old fashioned buttermilk glazed is right up there as well. It will be a relief to see a new interior with less ahem...character. And yes they will still be open 24 hours. Butterburgers can have a certain charm at 2 am.

Never tried ButterKrisp.
Where I grew up on the hot, melt in your mouth Southern Maid.
I moved to the Hill Country of Texas several years ago, and have not found a decent donut yet.

Cambodians are taking over the donut game and peddling the same shitty donuts everywhere.

No offense but don't most donut places sell out of donuts by 11am or noon?

Do most places sell 13,500 donuts in 6-8 hours?

They sold 13,500 from 7am to Noon
That’s 1125 dozen in 5 hours
That’s 225 dozen every hour.
That’s 3.75 dozen a every minute
That’s 1 donut every 1.33 seconds for 5 hours.
That’s a ton.

Had to get a police detail to direct traffic.
A lady at work waited in line for like an hour and a half.
They do have the best donuts though.

Mary Lee's lovers in shambles. You love to see it.

I agree. Beyond the pillowy texture (which is a perfect mix between fluffy and gummy) IMO, the trump card is their glaze. I can't stand a wet donut. Their glaze is perfect because while you get a little bit on your hands (to be expected), for the most part the glaze remains dry. It is similar to a non=shatter windshield cracking all over, but not giving away. Krispy Kreme and all the other donuts, (I'm looking at you Mary Lee) and especially Winn Dixie, are nasty to handle. A Krispy Kreme tastes good, but even with a napkin you are fricked until you can wash your hands.

I was wondering why there was a like stretching down the street this morning

A couple of years back we were leaving a post wedding bash in downtown Covington headed for Mandeville via Uber. Very drunk JB dragged my whole crew and our Arab (just got to the US a year prior) Uber driver into Buttekrisp for burgers. The driver was a convert to America after that stop. He couldn't quit talking about the burgers.

I havent had time to verify, but did CPD shut them down and start writing tickets for people in the street? I guess, CPD wants to write tickets, STPSO doesnt write tickets when Chickfila/Canes/Popeyes backs up into the highway.
And LOL at all the comeovers bitching about ButterKrisp, that place has been here forever. Id rather all them metrybaws just move back to the southshore.

Yeah it should be 1 donut every 1.33 sec. I’ll correct my post.
