quote:

Donald Trump criticized Ron DeSantis at a rally in Las Vegas over votes that his top Republican rival had cast in support of a federal plan to store the nation’s nuclear waste in Yucca Mountain, a contentious issue in the early primary state.

“If you don’t mind nuclear waste dumped in your backyard, I suggest you vote for Ron DeSanctimonious,” Trump said Saturday, referring to a nickname for DeSantis that he’s long used.

Like most House Republicans, DeSantis voted for a 2018 bill that would have authorized the storage of nuclear waste at Yucca Mountain, about 80 miles (130 kilometers) northwest of Las Vegas. The proposal is opposed by a supermajority of Nevadans in polls and remains stalled.

DeSantis voted for the 2018 bill that then President Trump supported and pushed House Republicans to vote for. Trump signed 3 budgets with funding for Yucca & only reversed his position in 2020 prior to the election.

Absolutely shameless.

Yeah, he’s long used it since around November 2022. The timing appears to be totally random.

In this Twitter communique Trump kicked out a shout to the peoples of the Great State of Nevada - known for its silver mines, a little ole town in the middle of the high desert name of Las Vegas, and of course the renowned array of escorts, hookers, blow and legal brothels.
quote:

Nevada, I hear you on Yucca Mountain and my Administration will RESPECT you! Congress and previous Administrations have long failed to find lasting solutions – my Administration is committed to exploring innovative approaches – I’m confident we can get it done!

Sumbitch didn’t hesitate to reconsider a prior position, change course as appropriate, and then own it on top of that. I’m truly interested in how a few of you busters will spin and trash something that’s overtly laudable and notable.

Are there better ideas for disposing of this waste?

I've heard some people recommend putting it on the launch pad and sending it toward Mars.

Trump could convince MAGA peeps to support anything. I have seen it happen on this site and it truly is hilarious. Trump moves them left and they don't even recognize it is happening.

The seal clapping is very tiresome. Trump could come out tomorrow favoring tax increases, expansion of every government program, and name Lindsey his VP and a lot of Trump folks would just clap and call him brilliant while saying that DeSantis is the RINO.

After watching Trump vs Jeb and Trump vs Marco, what gave any of you Ronbros any inkling whatsoever that it wouldn’t be exactly like this?

A promising young candidate who is told repeatedly to stay on the sidelines until 28 just bucks the defending nominee - former president who says he’s gonna run, who throws bombs constantly, how is this any shock?

It sucks your guy is getting mowed down constantly, but I don’t think anyone can say they didn’t warn you.

Trump is 0-2 in Nevada general elections. Lost to Hillary by over 2% there. Polling has him on track to make it three in a row whereas it shows DeSantis competing there.

I’m tired of the losing and the excuses.
