Love how he opened up his speech last night about working on the 24 team. Dude has no quit and will go get the best fit for the program. Can’t wait to see the talent he brings in.

Did you hear him talk about his dad and the success he had for 10 years in California track and field? He said his dad didn’t lose a Meet for 10 years. Do you even question where he gets the drive

His old man said that no one will outwork him. I tend to believe him. What he accomplished with this team this season is spectacular. I am not even a huge baseball fan but I always follow the Tigers from the Subregionals onward. I enjoyed this run every much as I did 2019. I am a converted baseball fan now.

We got a good one. Jays the type of coach to find motivation from anything. Even though no one will ever hold this against him I bet he’ll make himself believe that part of this championship was through the help of Mainieri. He’ll want to win at least another one with all of his recruits/transfers.

The guy works his arse off. And keep in mind he doesn't have his primary assistant coach to help him for the 2nd year in a row. So he has to recruit more by himself in addition to having to find someone to fill that role

Achieving success is one thing. Maintaining it is a lot harder, as we've seen with the Mississippi schools. Many coaches would be content to rest on their laurels after winning it all, but Jay doesn't have that mindset. When he said he had already started planning for 2024, I didn't doubt him for a second.
