Long story short, have had a torn ACL for 6 years. I aggravated it lifting yesterday and I don’t think the pain is going away.

Getting old ain’t for pussies.

Baton Rouge area.

Update:

Went with Dr. Burnham. Great recommendation.

Less than 2 weeks out after ACL reconstruction + menisectomy. I’m already walking unassisted and have near 100% quad function. FWIW, I lay a lot of the success at the feet of his PT as well.

Good guy. Helped him set up his blue tooth in his truck.

Oh wait: that wasn’t him.

I went to the BCM with him

Dr Patterson, Corpus Christi. replaced both knee joints entirely, out patient within medicare billing, surgical hospital only. In and out limits exposure to mirsa and a lotta other hospital derived complications

I went to David Pope at Bone and Joint Clinic and his office was great.

I’ve known 2 people that has gone to Jeremy Burnham and were really happy with him.

Lotta responses, all downvoted. It appears there are a few knee doctors on the OT that haven’t been mentioned.

If your ACL is torn, it's probably been wasted away by your body.

I’d only look at Burnham or Riche

Slidell Simon Finger. He did rotator cuff and replaced both my knees. Kool guy but no nonsense when it comes to after surgery work outs. Therapy is everything!

I understand travel but well worth it. I had surgery on July 25 in morning home that evening after total knee replacement. Had me up less then an hour after coming out recovery room. Totally your decision and a hard one to make, good luck on whom ever you choose.

Neils Linschoten.
[Edit. If you’re needing total knee replacement. That’s probably not for you yet.]

Total knee replacement and acl reconstruction are completely different procedures and bc a Dr is good at one does not mean he is good at the other

Burnham would be my first choice for ACLs in BR followed closely by Bankston, between the 2 of them they probably do more ACLs than the rest combined…… for a reason, Burnham gets the edge because of his keen knowledge of the current research and is more personable, you would be fine with either
