To the guys on this team who grew up in Louisiana have been dreaming of wearing the purple and championship gold on this stage since they were little leaguers. One of the home grown boys seems to always come through. Represent the homeland boys!

Houma, New Orleans 2x, West Monroe, Zachary, Slidell all likely in the starting lineup today. With a state population smaller than many metroplexes across other states it just means more to you boys.

Become synonymous with names like Rantz, Byrd, Mouton, Ogea, Johnson, Morris, Barbier, Coogan, Theriot, Fontenot, Pontiff, Jones, Schimpf, Mahtook, Mitchell and Nola.

All hometown celebrities.

Geaux tigers!

Crazy there are no BR tigers on the roster

Eta: DJ went to Central so even tho it’s listed as BR on the roster it should say Central

Pretty sure it doesn’t mean any more than it does to Crews. He passed up millions and playing for his home state to come to LSU. It was a dream of his just like many other kids around the country, including our head coach.

Watch the video after the supers with Guidry. Tell me that it doesn't mean just a tad bit more.

It's not a knock on Crews, or any out of state kid. But when you grow up on LSU baseball and you play out the CWS in your back yards 500 times between the ages of 5-15, and then you get to actually live it out. That's pretty damn special.

Watch the video of Jay talk about being in Omaha and seeing all the LSU fans and becoming a fan. A Northern California kid wanting to be an LSU tiger. We can do this all day long but I’m pretty sure it means a lot to all of them.

Rantz used to be a casino host at L'Auberge and would get the limo drivers to bring him to the Box for his other job. Casino got pissed at him.

Dat St Bernard is on da map and we don’t play
Ask me how I know, me and Cade are from around the way
He’s a real as hitter, who’s quick to pull the trigger
Hit ‘em up bang bang, let’s see who’s bats quicker

Cracked me up the other night to hear Eduardo say he remembers Rantz as a “former LSU great”.

I mean look, I love Jumbo as much as the next guy. But that phrase dead gave it away that Perez was just reading whatever the producers at ESPN are putting in front of him.

I keep hearing the announcers pronounce the “S” in Dugas. Is that correct or is it yankee announcers being Yankees?

That’s usually how it is, but I’m pretty sure they’ve brought it up during a “home town” broadcast that Gavin’s family says the “s.” So that’s why we get the “s.”

Lol. Just trust me when I say, he's the only one in his family that pronounces the S.

There were some missed opportunities in the past when out of state transfers didn't perform to their regular season averages in the post season while LA born players rose to the occasion.
