Pro - We need a player like him desperately. All year, I was saying we needed a shooter. I'd have settled for a catch and shoot guy. But the fact that this kid can run off screens is a bonus.

Con - Upside is limited. Like this fills a huge need but I'm not sure how good he can ultimately be.

Definitely a "safe" pick in that he's not going to bust.

Based on what we know now about Whitmore, I'm more inclined to be ok with it. I wish we had a shot at Dick but we didn't. Not a Bufkin guy. So it was either this or trade back.

We just drafted Malik Beasley at beasely at best at 14. You could trade for someone much better than beasely with 14

This is how Trey was described a year ago ..

Now he's a shooter, nearly won the dunk contest, doing live commentary on draft night, and cost controlled for years

Can’t think of a better mentor for Hawkings’ game than CJ McCollum

Big Con - he does nothing but shoot.

Griff is going to run it back and get fired next season.

I'm biased as a UConn alum but he's a perfect fit for this team.

Great work ethic...freshman year I barely noticed him. This year dramatic improvement. Quick release and great footwork. Underrated athlete. Willie needs to make sure he incorporates plays for him bc he's better than just a spot up guy.

No one on this board knows what they’re fricking talking about. Let’s just watch the kid play and evaluate him from there. Saying he sucks right now doesn’t do anyone any good

Pros- Great jump shooter in every facet. Spot up shooter, off movement, I feel like he does a great job in different scenarios. One of those guys that can get squared when he shouldn’t be able too, does a good job getting his shot off in a variety of situations. Not a guy that is going to create on his own but has shown flashes as a straight line driver off close outs. Really good in transition getting to his spot.

Cons- As good of a spot up guy as he is doesn’t have much of an off the dribble game. Below average finisher at the rim, doesn’t really self create, not a good cutter. Not a passer, really low ast%. Does a good job chasing guys defensively but doesnt really have a defendable position in the league. May struggle to stay in front of smaller guards and gets bullied by bigger wings. Not switchable. Doesn’t really have a projectable frame either. If he struggles to catch on in the league it will be because of the defense. Struggles off ball, from defending to boxing out to rebound.
