You hope we go up big early and are able to get him out sooner than later.

If this pitch count article is accurate, which I don't believe it is, how did Cooper pitch 2 days in a row after throwing over 25 pitches on Tuesday against Tennessee?

This is the end of the season. These guys will all rest next week. They all will go as hard and long as they can at this point.

If we have a big lead like 4+ runs? Sure can cut his outing short. But if its 3 or less you ride him as long as he can go and then turn it over to Hurd.

I don't know about you guys but I always get any and all NCAA post-season rules straight from MLBrun.com.

Again, it is an AI generated article that pulled at least a part of those numbers from the Texas highschool rules.
The article also calls all of the games "matches" and never puts "the" before College World Series and says that in the MLB if a pitcher exceeds his pitch count in the World Series he will not be available to pitch again until the playoffs, and that if a pitcher exceeds his pitch count the umpire can make him throw as many warm-up pitches as necessary before being allowed to continue.
This is word salad put into paragraph form.

It's a player by player thing. Some players can take a beating and others can't. Obviously you don't want to ruin his arm but he's shown time and time again that he's a workhorse. I would love to have an early lead so Skenes can rest.

Thanks, so no real source.

Those are High School pitch count rules. At least in the state of Texas.

It sounded like bullshite, and then I read "It was the World Series game against the Tennesse side on June 18, he threw a total of 123 pitches..." We didn't even play that day.
Awfull fake aritcle.
