Jason thinks Americans need some clarification about Juneteenth, Americans need to understand what Juneteenth is and what Juneteenth isn't.

Go to the 11:00 mark and listen, it's about 15-20 minutes long so listen at your leisure. It's good to hear what Juneteenth is from a black American's perspective because I personally had never heard of Juneteenth until 2-3 years ago and I have two black members in my family and several other black members in my extended family.

Jason Whitlock shares his thoughts and perspectives on Juneteenth. 11:00 mark

It's been celebrated by blacks in TX for decades. It took the race baiting summer of 2020 to get people to hear about it for the first time.

Don't fool yourself in thinking that the black supracemcy movement isn't pushing this to replace the real Independence Day. And white guilt cucks like Cornyn is assisting them.

Any pro-American of any race needs to be careful in supporting this holiday.

Only black ppl in Texas, LA, Arkansas, etc celebrated it. It was basically a smash parade and cookout day.

I'd bet 85% of the country had never heard of it before 2020.

Jason Whitlock caters to a certain group of people for clicks.

I listened from the 11:00 mark and what he is saying is absolute BS. Juneteenth was celebrated when I was a little kid and I'm 49 years old now (plus I grew up in Louisiana). Trust me.. if you grew up in the black church you recognized and celebrated Juneteenth. No there weren't big parades everywhere etc but it wasn't something that was taught and acknowledged.

I saw the comments Candace Owens made about Juneteenth. She's a really sad individual. But I'm not mad at her. As long as people like her, Jason Whitlock and Rachel Dolezal (or any other apologist on both sides of the coin) can say odd ball comments, get some attention and make a few dollars off of it they will continue to exist.

I made a thread the other day about Juneteenth that got some criticism.

But anyone who pays attention, knows what the whole Juneteenth thing is really about. It's obviously a reaction and outgrowth of the George Floyd/BLM uprisings from 2020. As had been mentioned, no one even knew about this Juneteenth until a few years ago, and now all the sudden we have to do some sort of forced celebration about it.

But here is an example of how I see this holiday. I was at a restaurant on 6/19 with my family. And ESPN was on. They had some commercial celebrating Juneteenth, and it was basically a montage of modern black people raising their fists, protesting for George Floyd and people in "don't breathe masks", as well as left wing activists like Ibram X Kindi in the commercial. The day is clearly meant to be another promotion of the Democrat party and an opportunity to grow left wing activism. That's it.

The only issues they may have screwed up on, is the date. June is already swallowed whole by the rainbow people, and all the kids are out of school so won't even know about it or won't have to be force-fed more white guilt propaganda.

I grew up in North Louisiana. I heard about Juneteenth over fifty years ago. I was also born at a hospital named after the Confederacy and I remember Confederate Memorial Day. Whitlock has some interesting takes but he isn’t an historian.

I have no problem with it being a holiday for black folks.

White women and the trannies will hijack it though

It should never have become a national holiday. Just more pandering and trinkets. It doesn't help the nation in any way.

I’m 40 and from West Texas. I never once heard about it as a holiday but we definitely covered the Galveston landing post emancipation proclamation.

I move to East/Central Texas which has a much higher black density and I heard about for the first time probably 15 years ago. I had a friend at TXDoT and that dude would get off for every Texas holiday imaginable. Texas Independence, confederate heroes day, and Juneteenth.

I think him talking about getting off is the first time I remember it being a holiday.

Definitely regional and it’s emergence is definitely a recent phenomenon.

Late 40s. Raised in Tx. Heard of the holiday as a kid, but my family and extended never celebrated it.

I knew some blacks (not from TX) who felt we should be angry our ancestors were freed 2yrs too late rather than celebrate it.

I knew of Opal Lee pushing to make it a holiday. I never thought it would happen since it’s really a TX holiday. But with the recent events, the perfect storm was there and bam, it’s a federal holiday.
I didn’t celebrate it this year, but I don’t feel need to rip on those who did. Just like I don’t care for President’s Day and Columbus Day.

Why can’t we just all be Americans? Where each race and race culture celebrate what in the hell they want to without shoving it on everybody.

Yes I have a black nephew as well as a black friend I once had lunch with. So I get what you're saying.

Nobody can pander quite like Jason Whitlock. He certainly knows his audience well.
