As a kid growing up in the late ‘70’s early ‘80s Breakfast in America got a ton airplay, but the name Supertramp (I believe name came from a book) never did the group any justice.
What’s a band you loved, but the band name was bleh?

Pearl Jam's a pretty awful name for a band. They were probably my favorite band in the 90s but I could go the rest of my life without hearing another song from them and die a happy man.
Tears For Fears has always been a favorite band of mine, but not crazy about their band name either.

I hate the name Death Cab for Cutie but they are most certainly not a great band. Pearl Jam is a great name for a band. Better than Spooge, which is what it means. Maybe Rainbow as it has such a different meaning today (named after the Rainbow Bar & Grill in LA); doubt Richie wanted his metal band to be about LGBQ stuff.

Fall Out Boy - terrible name, horrible band. Does that count?

Yes.
We’ll allow it.

System of a Down. Takes forever to say it. Why not just System Down? Agree with the poster about Death Cab for Cutie. Should be just Death Cab. Maybe it's copyright or trademark issues.
Also Mammoth/Rat Salad. The best thing David Lee Roth ever did was convince EVH to name the band Van Halen. Thank god.

I don't know man, I thought it was a great name.

Khruangbin's my favorite band. The name's not the best for getting people that have never heard them to check out their music, though. Any time that I ask someone if they've heard of them, the response is almost always "who?"

It's definitely better than Mookie Blaylock or Mother Love Bone.

What? Great band and the name is great too when you consider the two members are Gene and Dean Ween.
