Mike is my favorite overall.
The show was still finding its footing with the Joel run. Some of the early shows were hard to watch.
Most of the Mike shows are enjoyable. The comedians behind the bots were better too. A majority of my favorites are from the Mike era.
Just my opinion. Tubi has a nice selection of some of the best of the series, and similar to Pluto, it also has a dedicated "live" channel.

Mitchell, Space Mutiny, Eegah and MST3K the movie are some of the most enjoyable ones ever.
can toss Manos and a few others - I have several collections.
Mitchell may have been the best, but them making fun of Huge McBiglarge in Space Mutiny cracks me up
side note, I'm not sure how in the hell the writer and director was not sued into oblivion for blatantly stealing Battlestar Galactica footage for the movie.

I loved how they tied the Final Justice viewing to Mitchell and Mike thought he'd escape b/c Joel had escaped during a Joe Don Baker film.
Both Joe Don Baker movies are great.
Space Mutiny is an absolute classic.

Mike's my favorite host of the show.
Eegah! is probably my favorite, of the episodes that usually make the top 10 lists.
A couple of favorites that don't get a lot of love are Catalina Caper and Fire Maidens From Outer Space.

Joel was a better host, Mike was a better riffer. Can’t go wrong with either.
Although I will say the last few episodes of Joel’s tenure (Eegah, Gunslinger, I Accuse My Parents, Mitchell) are his absolute best work ever on the show. He knew he was about to leave and instead of phoning it in he went out on top.

Also I think the Sci-Fi channel seasons are the best seasons of the show. By that point the writers had 7 seasons of experience and were firing on all cylinders. Another being that the bad movies they covered were enjoyably bad and gave enough material to make great jokes. Whereas the Comedy Central seasons were littered with the most unwatchable shite ever

Even though I miss the silhouettes on the screen, I prefer Rifftrax to MST3K, mostly because it's nice to watch uninterrupted films vs the skits for commercial breaks on MST3K.
Plus, Bridget and Mary Joe make a terrific riffing team. I honestly like the stuff that they do more than most of what I watch from Bill, Mike, and Kevin.

Loved it back in the day. Chipped in a few coin to get it back with the new guy, Felicia Day, etc... not bad, felt good about it, but it wasn't the same. Nothing ever is.
