Road Trip to Colorado and Utah

Just thought I would post about the road trip I have coming up. We (wife and 2 daughters) make a trip to Colorado each year. We camp at RMNP for a week then find other places to hit. This year's trip will be a bit more expansive. I limit the driving days to 8-9 hours because of the ladies, so...
Day 1 - Baton Rouge to Allen, TX (to stay with family)
Day 2 - Allen, TX to Thompson Grove in the Rita Blanca Grasslands, just before NM.
Day 3 - Thompson Grove to Fort Collins. We do hotel nights here and there for laundry. Other than that, camping.
Days 4-9 - Rocky Mountain National Park. Camping in Aspenglen Campground this year. Moraine Park is closed for the year to do a major overhaul.
Days 9-11 - YMCA Snow Mountain Ranch near Grand Lake.
Day 11 - Jumbo Campground in Grand Mesa, CO.
Day 12 - Fruita Campground in Capitol Reef. The campground is near an active orchard. You can walk around and pick fruit to eat free of charge. The visitor's center sells pies made from the orchard fruit.
Day 13 - North Campground in Bryce Canyon. Hoodoos.
Day 14 - Kanab, UT hotel stay for laundry.
Day 15-17 - North Rim Campground, Grand Canyon NP. The North Rim is about 1,500 feet higher than the South Rim, meaning a fifteen degree temperature difference.
Day 17 - Standing on a corner in Winslow, AZ, Petrified Forest NP, and hotel stay TBD.
Day 18 - Black Canyon Campground near Sante Fe, NM.
Day 19-21 - Meow Wolf in Sante Fe, then on to Texas and home.

You sure about this? It seems to be 2-3 degrees per 1000’ here in Colorado.

Great place and no crowds. On your drive to Bryce I think you'll go by Calf Creek Falls, just after the Hogback. If you have time it's a cool hike with a waterfall and swimming hole at the end. Something like 6 miles round trip but mostly, following a stream at the bottom of a canyon.

you got 4WD?
you should plan a day for canyonlands. WAAAAAY better than Grand Canyon (IMO) because you can literally drive to the bottom of the canyon
they don't give a shite. they're just like 'looks like you have 4wd...go have fun'.
scary switchbacks but my 2 young kids still talk about it to this day. 4runner GOAT.
seriously, i would adjust my schedule to fit an extra day in to do canyonlands.
eta i want to say going from the rim down to where that road goes off in the distance was a good 3-4 hours so plan accordingly. looks deceptively shorter in that pic.
eta2 this pic i took sucks. it doesn't *REMOTELY* capture how breathtaking this view is when you see it for the first time.

You shouldn’t skip Zion. I’d go there over Bryce Canyon.
I put Zion right behind Yosemite as far as my favorite national park.
It’s better and more accessible than RMNP IMO.
