I’ve been wanting to upgrade my liners. Looks like now may be the time it appears.

I made the investment for some Nordica Promachines and a custom footbed this season. Was worth evey penny, toe bang is gone completely.

I’m not sure about ski boots but the insole in the snowboard boots are worthless.

Aftermarket footbed’s are worth every penny.

Same for ski boots. The stock insole is trash. Always buy new molded insoles when I get new boots.

The new boots were a moderate success. I instantly knew when I clicked into my skis it was going to be a different experience. The boots require a ton of input to drive them. Theres no casual skiing with them on. I don’t like skiing hard pack and always thought my skis just didn’t have a good edge. I now realize I didn’t have enough boot to push the skis to carve. The new boots transformed the old skis. The downside is they are a pain in the arse to get on and off. There’s a lot going on with the boa liner, stiff shell, power strap buckle, etc. Once they were on, it was fine besides the normal breakin pressure. Since it was a bluebird groomer day, I was able to ski with the bottom boa all the way loose, the liner boa barely snug, and the buckles on the loosest setting while still staying buckled. The power strap is difference maker. I would pull them tight before a run and release the buckle pressure at the end of the run. There’s no Velcro so I was able to release the buckle pressure without having to lift my pant legs. Once they are broken-in and I get a chance to do some tougher skiing in them, they should be great.

This and a love for my acls is why I snowboard. What a pain in the arse.

First ski-trip in over a decade coming up this weekend.

Company ski-trip to Serfaus, Austria.

Flying down from Amsterdam a bit early to Munich (was cheaper than Innsbruck).

Down to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, in the Bavarian Alps where conditions on the Garmisch Classic are looking end of season but on the glacier of the country’s highest peak, the Zugspitze (also part of the broader Garmisch ski resort) they are still getting some snowfall and conditions seem to be decent.

I’ll have 1 day on the slopes of the Zugspitze there have to make my way to Serfaus where conditions are looking better than the Garmisch Classic but perhaps not as good as the Zugspitze.

frick this next year I’m gonna finally organize my own trip and go to Sankt Anton in January, because I miss snowboarding

What is the flex compared to your old boots?

I went from rental boots with a flex of 80 to my own boots with a flex of 110 just this season. The 80s were like driving a wet noodle. Could probably go a little higher on the stiffness, but the 110s don't bug me too much.

How long before the liner starts to feel packed out? I have only been out about 25 times on my new boots and already need an ankle wrap to prevent heel lift in the right boot. Pretty sure the size is on point, I just have different shaped feet (and calf muscles for that matter).

Wondering if the Intuition liners are worth it when the stock liner packs out?

Odd thing is, the only time the boots feel "off" or ill fitting is when I am just cruising with my wife, on cat tracks or easier, slower, flat terrain. When I am carving downhill, sending it like a madman, or straightlining for that new max speed, the boots fit like a glove. Maybe because I am in a real ski stance then rather than just messing about?

Old boots are 100, new boots 130. Old boots had 150+ days maybe which isn’t a lot but they were fairly basic so the quality wasn’t great. They started getting squishy about 120 days or so. A new liner might have fixed them and I may still go that route to have a pair for easy resort days. They were great when cold but would get real sloppy on hot days.

From what I’ve read, although companies use the same number scale, there’s not a standard of what “flex” actually is.

Austrian Alps and Bavaria in general are insane.
Lift tickets are cheap, purity laws are real and Apres is a lifestyle.

Prost!

There is no standard. I’ve ridden board boots for 100+ days without packing out (Nike Lunarendor) and I’ve ridden only 30 days and they packed out and even leaked (DC Travis Rice).

I think it really depends on how hard you’re treating them in regards to terrain, weatherization and individual destruction.

S25, D15.

Pow day three of three of the chase. Bachelor cleared out early and we had the whole place to ourselves. It wasn’t tits deep be we ran untouched lines all afternoon.

Dried roses hanging from the ceiling of Wild Rose (Thai) looks much cooler than the blizzard photos.

Deliciously, reasonably priced food and drinks. Reservations are preferred.

I am at 120 last on my current boots with about 80 days on them. SMH that they wore out so quickly. Found the zip fit HQ out in Carbondale so I may pay them a visit.

Mammoth Mountain CA. Most of the summit chairs were on wind hold. I’ll try to get to the top today.

I picked up a 147 Korua Pencil last night.
Will ride it today instead of my daily driver (Korua Transition Finder 150).

Ridiculously made boards originally out of Poland. Built for turning.

Awesome. I hope you get the goods.

I have a tooth implant from a Mammoth fall over twenty seasons ago. I’m back to get mine.

There are a ton of novice riders here this weekend. St Pattys and a pride festival coinciding, so we are nearing Jerry capacity.

I don’t know anything about snowboards but my gf rides a 153. Is a 147-150 a small board?
