NCAA 2006 was the best NCAA. Alley Broussard was unstoppable in that game.
Yeah, if you subbed in Perriloux at QB and run the option with Broussard, it would get ugly for any defense. I did that against my cousin's USC and he hated it.
Funny story is that I ran into Alley Broussard at the poker table one day. Very nice guy (I think he works in oil and gas or plant work). I told him about the game and that he was unstoppable and dude just chuckled.

Yea the RB stable was loaded too and you could run option with Perrilloux
Defense was stacked too

I forgot what year it was, but you could sub in Xavier Carter to run KR/PR and put him at Slot WR. First play of the game would a WR screen and next play a deep fly to X-Man. People online would be like who the hell is that dude.

as much as i want this game, frick EA... after this years Madden, they'll never get another dime from me... sucks b/c i love FIFA, used to love Madden, and really want NCAA, but i just can't give them anymore of my money for such shitty products

Madden never changes. NCAA was always better imo.

Not really childhood, but we had a PS2 and a 13" color TV stashed outboard of the sonar equipment in our submarine on a Western Pacific Deployment in 2002, during which EA's NCAA Football 2002 was our game of choice.
We had multi-player Dynasties going, and you had to play the games in order. We would wake each other up/relieve each other on watch, etc... getting our games in.

06 was my favorite. That was the one where the players would screw up and you had to discipline them. Guy would fail a test and you would bench him for a quarter. The NCAA would say that is satisfactory punishment. The NCAA stepped in and made them put an end to that shite

We had a rule in our house in college that you couldn’t play with Clemson. This was around 2012-13. That team was the GOAT NCAA team. Tajh Boyd, Deandre Hopkins, Sammy Watkins, Martavis Bryant, Andre Ellington.
Whoever played with them would kick everybody’s arse so we straight up banned anyone from playing with them

How many of you was EA's NCAA Football series play a pretty big role in childhood? by NawlinsTiger9Your experience was very similar to mine I distinctly remember one of my best friends riding with me to gamestop at midnight so we could both grab the new copy and play it all night Before I knew that same friend very well we'd skip class to go play tug of war in the dorms all morning Some of the easiest/most fun I've ever had
You beat me to it
Load up on monsters, hop in the Dakota, go grab that bitch and not put it down for 48 hours
Good times

I just downloaded ncaa 06 on rpcs2 and played it on my way to the beach. It’s a slight regression after being used to NCAA 14. It lacks the control features of the later games.

2002 had me returning every damn kick and punt with Toefield. Not sure what it was about him but I was a scourge ok the ps2 network. My grades reflected that as well. I might have to nreak that game put today lol

Another vote for '06 here. Soundtrack was awesome.
And it had a bug in recruiting where offering a guy and then taking it away counted as a pitch. This gave you basically unlimited pitch points and after a few weeks you'd start punching two or three levels above your weight. And once your prestige level got maxed out you were basically guaranteed 15-20 5* players every year.
I ended up simming entire seasons because I was just addicted to the recruiting. I remember one year in my Baylor dynasty I landed every single 5* plus the top-ranked player at each position that didn't have a 5* (K, P, and I think DL; 5* DLs were exceedingly rare in that game). I had half a dozen 5* QBs from just that class alone
Think I won 30 NCs in 60 years doing that. TAMU and SDSU were the other powerhouses. They'd be top 5 even with two or three losses. SDSU finished #2 going 7-4 one year
Love that game.

The first game I bought was NCAA 98 for PS1 and a guy I went to high school with was on UL-Monroe(I believe they were Northeast Louisiana back then). He was rated a 46 as a senior

I still play 09 on my ps2. I’m in 2034 with my Florida dynasty. So fun.
