Agree or Disagree?

He is elite when he’s on. And he’s been on lately. I pray he keeps it up!

If Texas were to win tonight and upset Wake game 1 I wouldn't be upset with him going. He pitched great in Austin against them.

If you win game 1, you go all in on game 2. Whatever it takes. 2-0 is huge. So if that takes throwing Floyd/Hurd/Ack/Guidry....that's what you do.

If Cooper is our designated Fireman, then yeah I like Hurd in Game 2. Not many teams in Omaha will have a Game 3 guy as good as Floyd. Only UF and maybe Tenn in my opinion

Hurd has much better breaking stuff than Floyd. Almost seems like Floyd gets in trouble every single inning

Well then who do you throw Wednesday if you go that route? You can't burn everybody and then trot out Little Wednesday.

No. I would stay with Floyd. If Floyd struggles early, then bring on Hurd. But there is a significant chance that Floyd guns them down for five or six innings, and you don't want to miss out on that.

I’d go with a combination of Floyd/Hurd in Game 2.

You throw who you didn't use. But screw Wednesday; you HAVE to win games 1 and 2. And that's only 18 innings; you're not going to burn everyone. We can pitch three complete games before having to rely on Little.

If Skenes gives you 7, then you only need 11 innings from Hurd, Floyd, Cooper, Coleman, Guidry, Ack, and Herring.

If Hurd and Floyd combine for nine innings, and Cooper and Guidry give you one each, you have Coleman, Ack and Herring fresh as daisies for game 3, and Cooper and Guidry are available.

After those three dingers yesterday, I’d be fine with Hurd.

I'll allow it.

It's better than some dumbass on FB saying OMAHEAUX after we won last night.

OMA... Hoe?

That has been Floyd all year, he gives up a couple of home runs. Also all year Floyd has almost always given the ball up with the lead, tied, or a very close game. I would be surrpised to see JJ get away from what he has done all year. With that said I have no idea how Floyd matches up with Wake and if Wake will sit their ace until game 2.

CWS plays bigger than Alex Box so Floyd and Money may be studs in Omaha.

That's the problem with the way fans think. Pitchers are up and down. Floyd might go seven innings of one run ball next time. The coach needs to give him the opportunity in order to find out. Plus, there is no way we are going through the field in Omaha without getting three or four innings from Floyd, so why not start him? He is one of the few guys (Skenes, Hurd, Coleman) who might go three times through a lineup.

Wake has 3 very legit starters.

People have to realize that's his game. He'll give up a couple dingers a game and will throw a ton of pitches but he doesn't give up 10 runs. I think Skenes has warped how we think about quality in pitching.

Did you forget the bombs that Hurd gave up against OSU. Hurd had some amazing K's in that game, but he still gave up 4 runs in 5 innings. Floyd is better than Hurd in almost every stat. (W/L, ERA, b/avg, Hits per inning, walks per inning). The only stat that Hurd is leading is K's per inning and that margin is small.
