When I pass, I want the entire collection to be a public display and own entity as a stand alone museum.
You should hook up with Darth and get some of his models to display in it.

Is the Bouncing Betty hollowed out from the bottom or marked in some way to indicate it is disarmed? I'd hate for some bomb squad to destroy history after you're gone.
Three screws at the top allow it to be opened. The exposives have been removed...
also.. I forgot this...
Yank Magazine April 1944...
Why is this Yank magazine important? It has the printed letter of Rupert_Trimmingham A valuable edition if you ask me.

LINK to pdf of graduation book class 43-5
I've been scanning the book for the past 15 minutes, trying to find out who the man in the picture is. He's squinting so that might make it a little harder to match up. It'll be fun to find information about him and his sweetheart.
OT sleuth cred up for grabs here

Warren E Arieux?
The jawline looks different, but he is smiling in the senior picture. I'm especially looking at the tip of the nose and the eyebrows.
Or...is it James Edmondson?
Or Edwin Gross

My great uncle was stationed in Africa in the tank division battling Rommel throughout the desert when they came across a small German patrol. My uncle shot and killed the German officer standing in a Sonderkraftfahrzeug 251 half track. He took his gun, holster, all his Nazi medals and ammunition and buried it in the desert to retrieve it later. He brought it home after the war and has been in my family ever since.
And you’re trying to sell it? Or are you referring to a different gun?

Holy Cow.. I think that you are correct Sir...
from Find a Grave.... LINK
Warren Eugene Arieux, 92, loving father passed away peacefully on January 27, 2014
He is preceded in death by his wife of 69 years Dolly Enloe
Mr. Arieux was a World War II veteran, and a prisoner of war in Barth, Germany, from February, 1944 until June, 1945. . I will say shot down and in POW camp...
That would make the flight suit a summer issue then. Should have known with the khaki shirt and tie.

the MAe West was Nov '44.. He was in captivity by then from Feb '44... Means that the Mae West was added to the suit at a later date.
in Winter '44 he would have been earing the dark Green winter issue and this Khaki Summer was in a footlocker somewhere while he was in captivity.

yeah, just killing time, all of that stuff was probably assembled way after the fact for the display, doesn't mean it isn't cool though

I will call the collector that I got it from and see if I can get any more details... But I believe he told me everything that he knew... Which was little...

This is Dolly Arieux
According to her obituary, her and Warren got married in Midland,Texas probably when he was in training.
So the sweetheart picture would likely be of Dolly if that's Warren's gear
Hmm. Nose and under the eyes don't match up

I have my grandfather's Doughboy jacket from WWI and was hoping to find a museum to take it. Any ideas?
Posted on 6/9/23 at 12:07 pm to HuskyPanda
I agree. Unfortunately, there is not as much information I can find on Edmondson yet. There is one obituary for James R Edmondson I can find from the same hometown, but it would've made him 27 in that photograph and I think he looks younger than that.
