Floyd is still 2. Hurd 3. We basically treated Game 2 as two separate games. I don't think Hurd comes out of the pen under normal circumstances.
I did think it was kind of interesting that we were able to hold all of our lefties for game 3 (and potentially 4).

I really want to believe this, because we need 3 starting pitchers if we want to win the CWS... but Hurd was getting loose when Skenes was running into a bit of trouble in the 8th on Friday.

I don't think you change anything. Floyd starts game 2 and you use Hurd if it can secure you a close win in games 1 or 2 and if that situation never comes up then he starts game 3.
For everyone asking about starting Hurd in game 2 and bring Floyd out of the pen, do you really want to bring in a fastball pitcher who has a tendency to start slow and give up deep fly balls late in the game with guys on base and a 2 run lead? Or would you rather bring in the guy that has a wicked curveball and more mental toughness in that situation? Floyd and Hurd can give you pretty much the same thing from a starter's perspective, so let Floyd start where he has time to settle in. A solo HR or deep sac fly won't kill you in a start but it can be devastating in the pen

idk it was a must win and Floyd was already throwing a lot of pit ch e’s, there is a chance we throw Hurd in that game.
it’s wild we didn’t use coleman at all this weekend.
he’s solid for 2 innings. his issue has been stretching into the 3rd.
