Why isn’t college baseball pushed more as a national sport?

I feel like the reason it’s a “non money making” sport is strictly due to the lack of coverage throughout the year. If ESPN would make games easily accessible and would talk about the sport, it will grow. This weekend on squeeze play has been excellent to watch

Because the college football and basketball are essentially the minor leagues. You watch for who will win awards because you know they will "play on Sundays".
College baseball is not. The actual minor leagues are.

Because it’s made up of mostly mediocre players who use aluminum bats, and it’s only entertaining if you’re emotionally invested.

It’s a regional sport with talent watered down due splitting HS talent with MLB
Most interest is in the Sun Belt where there are fewer pro teams in general.

Because top tier talent goes pro, second tier talent goes JUCO, and four year schools get the scraps. There is a reason the typical four year scholly covers a little more than books and a few meals.
There is a reason the SEC only has one member in Cooperstown and even he was on a football scholarship

Dominated by schools in the southeast so there’s little to no interest among the coastal elites.

Because Mintz got fired at Barstool.

I love college baseball but the quality of play is poor. It’s not rocket science

Love college sports until they turn completely into the likeness of professionals.
Screw MLB, NFL, and NBA.

This is an LSU board with mostly SEC fans where college baseball is very popular.
Get outside the deep south and nobody gives a frick about college baseball

Games are boring and long as shite.

At least almost all games are now on ESPN plus.
If it got a push like woman’s basketball or even softball it would easily crush both in views

It’s grown a lot, starting in the late 90s really with all the crazy scoring.
I can remember when there was literally one game on TV all year - the final game in Omaha on ABC’s “wide world of sports.”

I really enjoy watching College Baseball. I think it's getting more attention every year

Pitch clock is helping a lot imo. College games were brutally long before this year. Will make it better for TV.
Lot of schools investing in their stadiums. It’ll continue to grow. I don’t buy the quality of play argument. Basketball is just as bad in comparison to the pros.
