What else is Trump really supposed to do? All of Desantis' positions are the same things Trump promised to do but didn't when he was actually President. Just yesterday he claimed that he would end birthright citizenship on Day 1 of his term and it took five minutes to find several examples of him promising the same thing over and over from 2016-2019.

Desantis has a similar record without any of the baggage though. Trump is stuck, that's why tried to go for the quick kill. Antagonize Desantis until he blows up but he isn't taking the bait. Now Trump just looks senile.
