I would walk over 100 oven baked turkeys to get to MY fried turkey......but to each his own IMO.

Well, I think it all depends on the chef.
The oven-baked turkey I did for thanksgiving last year blew almost any fried turkey I've ever had away. But I think that was exception.

I had a feeling, I'd be in the minority here.
Most baked turkeys are overcooked.
However, I'd put a PERFECTLY baked one, hot with giblet gravy, up against a fried turkey, any day.

does anyone inject an oven baked turkey? I've never had a fried turkey made fresh...I've had one from Popeyes and one from Copelands. The one from Popeyes wasnt really fried...it actually had to get cooked in the oven another 2 hours I believe. It was one of the best turkeys i have ever had.

Depends on who fries the turkey. I have had many overcooked fried turkeys.. All things being equal I prefer a perfectly cooked fried turkey over a perfectly smoked turkey over a perfectly baked turkey.

This is why I prefer fried.

Wait so Popeyes screwed up or they intended it to need to be further cooked? In BR there is no chance in hell I would trust those idiots to fry a turkey. They would probably still manage to screw up and give me only dark meat.

I had no clue this was even an option.

Popeyes fries them then freezes them, so you have to cook it 2 hours in the foil to thaw it out
in some places you can get a freshly fried one from popeyes the night before thanksgiving
